If the point of the justice gang stopping Borovia is meant to be how Superman inspired others to do good then its moot when he inspires people to kill others. Superman is very much against that, but in this movie that’s portrayed as a badass moment. Imagine a Batman movie where Batman inspires people of Gotham to work together to stop a massacre and someone kills the Penguin. Isn’t that going against what he stands for? Its also an easy way out for Superman to not have to dirty his hands and throw responsibility to someone else, which is weak.
Also, Superman got heat for merely lifting the governor into a cactus and stopping a war with zero casualties. Now the Justice Gang committed mass murder to the entire Borovia’s forces and murdered their leader with zero consequences whatsoever. Keep in mind Hawkgirl is also an alien and Guy Gardner is working for an alien organization. I don’t see how they wouldn’t get even more flack than Superman after that.
