The real answer is you laughed at South Park when you were a kid because you knew nothing about politics and only watch the fart jokes and gore. Years later you found /pol/ and the rest is history

my pick too. People forget the B-plot of that one is Kyle's mom trying to take down T&P, probably a movie precursor.
>Stan: Dammit! You know, I think that if parents would spend less time worrying about what their kids watch on TV, and more time worrying about what's going in in their kid's lives, this world would be a much better place.
>Kyle: Yeah, I think that parents only get so offended by television because the rely on it as a babysitter, and the sole educator of their kids.
>Kenny: (You know what I think? Basically, if you let the decision of what you watch stop at the parents' control, then what can you see? It'll stay the same because they'll just get offended although their kids are not delighted with the television series they put on for their kids.)

Now with that being said, I'm pretty sure that's the only "real" political episode until S3-S4. There's bits of political commentary scattered throughout S1-S2 but I can't recall a full episode besides Death.

Yeah more/less, unless you count Saddam being shown as a villain or Bill Clinton as being a horndog, its a lot of celebrities being made fun of or an original character. Still with how many people overreact or trolls overthetop pretend, just even bringing up a politician or celebrity would be enough to be "political".

Plus they were up to S5 by the time 9/11 happened, and didn't reference people against the Iraq war until maybe S7 in 2003.

But this influx of retards bringing up southpark because it brought up maga or whatever is surprising.
Its like how Matt/Trey bring up all the fanhate they got for the "who is cartman's father" april fools episode, and I'm surprised this many people are still watching and care.

I'm looking at the list of episodes, and political stuff starts to get common with S8. Which is part of the widely agreed upon best era of the show (S5-S11ish) so it's a questionable complaint to say the least.

Hilarious is what it is. They've been doing political stuff regularly for two decades now, but only now is it an issue. :1

For me it's less about wether it used to be political or not, but rather that I've grown extremely tired of american politics, since the shit is smeared everywhere.
The fact that I'm not American probably doesn't help since from the outside it's just become a slap fight of who is more/less retarded between two retards, with a random effigy for people to fight over, changing every 4 years.
