While I'm glad the demons got killed and locked away, and they were mostly remorseless killers, I can't help but pity them a bit because thugs too stupid to poison an enemy's food (see the beginning of the film) have a certain naivety to them that's a tad endearing.

This, basically. On paper, it's all bland as fuck, but the music and animation themselves made it a fun watch. And even though a "be yourself" message in a kid's cartoon isn't a particularly novel concept, I do appreciate the way we've changed our approach in selling it. We've come a long way from Rudolph.

They could totally make one or two more sequels if they actually wrap it up in a trilogy. A movie for Zoey and one for Mira could work, but I think it'll really come down to how they do the villains.

It’s a shame they bungled this with that sort of whiplash cause I actually quite liked the actual scene with Celine in its own right. Very realistic portrayal of the kind of flawed logic she’d been using

Well I think this was always the point. Celine telling her to hide the truth from her closest friends was a mistake from the start. Even their falling out was more on the back of the shock of having been lied to during the literal demonic apocalypse.

It's what I've been seeing a lot from China/Korea lately, very impressive and polished 3D animation with stock/cliche stories executed well.
