Fav spidey comics ? Recommendations etc
>>149545205 (OP)i liked the original lee/ditko run
>>149545205 (OP)I've only read some Lee/Ditko and some Bendis and some Jenkins. I guess I like Lee/Ditko's best.
>>149545205 (OP)Lee/Romita is genuinely great, it improves on Ditko's tenure in almost every way. The art is better, the stories are deeper, and the characters are more fully realized and less like caricatures
>>149545205 (OP)The Lee/Ditko era stands the test of time.
I'm not well-versed in some of the recommended stories yet as I am woefully behind on my chronological read-through but I heard the Owl-Octopus War is good and it appears cool from what I have seen, the Robbie Tombstone saga, and JMD's run after the clone Saga all appear to be interesting. Basically a lot of Spectacular seems pretty good even beyond Sin Eater and JMD's original run with Buscema.
Spider-Man: Spirits of the Earth and Spider-Man: Hooky are weird painted graphic novels that are good and interesting artwork.
When I get to Web of, Gerry Conway has an interesting period and there's some marriage pages I've seen where he writes MJ and Peter again.
Book of Peter and Sensational Spider-Man Annual are good.
JMS's run until 500 is solid gold (barring anons and their opinions on 9/11 with the villains).
Tangled Web is an interesting anthology book, just skip the Thousand. Double Shots, Behind the Mustache, and the Darwyn Cooke stories are all good even if it has Zeb's name on one of them. Haven't read some of the Rhino stuff yet.
/co/ is torn on Superior but I thought it was good. /co/ does like Yost's Scarlet Spider for the most part.
Also a more hidden good one I think is Untold Tales of Spider-Man: Strange Encounters. Not the best but definitely some good fun just like how Spider-Man: Fever was.
Finally the Spectacular Spider-Man Magazine Issue 2 has great Norman Osborn GG action and art. Classic but you don't see it get mentioned as much. Even though it is the last time he was GG before issue 96.
>>149547429I meant Superior Foes. FUCK. I channeled Dan Slott's fat fingers on that one.
Anyway pic rel is what I was talking about. If you like Lee-Ditko then you could get somewhat of a facsimilie with the Untold Tales stories and Amazing Fantasy 16-18. Oliffe's art is pretty good to great and Busiek manages to weave together interesting stuff between pages/panels. Though some stuff is kinda underwhelming because it is a prequel.
#1 Read up to the wedding
#2 Read Kravens Last Hunt and the Death of Jean Dewolff trades
#3 Read Spider-Girl
That's my rough framework

>>149545205 (OP)I got a soft spot for most of David Michelinie's run on Amazing up to the point before Peter's parents showing up where the character wasn't someone's misery fetish.
