What is it about JTHM that attracted weirdo femoids in the 2000s?

literally one of two things, the classic
>I can fix him
or
>he is so clumsy and spastic I could take him
it is a power issue over him in one way or another
those types love the idea of having some kind of control over a troubled man who isn't ugly
regardless the reason he is your poster child goth homicidal twink

JtHM is one of those things I loved dearly as an edgy angsty teen but now recognize for the garbage it is. It is astounding how poorly-written most of the issues are. And by that I mean pacing, flow, clarity, and even word choice.
I read an interview once where Jhonen said that he draws the art first then figures out the script later. Brother, it shows.

That's been a thing since the dawn of time. Ted Bundy had femoids, the colombine shooters had femoids, bram stoker's dracula had femoids

The diarrhea commercial and the one about Jhonen fighting the vampire were the funniest issues, but other than those, I don't think I've enjoyed the other installments. I honestly enjoyed JTHM for its edgy aesthetics and Jhonen's art style more than the writing

Most of the fans of the comic never read it, they liked it through some poorly scanned pages or photos taken of the comic, since it was really hard to buy it. And use some of them for their blogs in a aesthetic way.
It only became more available in 2010.

It was only hard to buy if you were like underage and had to rely on your parents driving you to stores, it was easily avaliable to buy online too.

Nta but I read it online on a website that hosted okay-ish scans of all the issues.
