>Marvel Comics has announced a new five-issue miniseries titled 1776, written by J. Michael Straczynski with art by Ron Lim and Sean Damien Hill.

>The miniseries will explore a mysterious force threatening to rewrite history at the dawn of the American Revolution, prompting Captain America to assemble a team of Marvel heroes to ensure the nation’s founding remains intact. According to Marvel’s official synopsis, the fate of the nation hangs in the balance as the heroes navigate the perils of the past to secure the future.

>This isn’t Marvel’s first foray into this historical period—it was previously explored in Captain America’s Bicentennial Battles #1, Giant-Size Fantastic Four #2, and Moon Knight Annual (Vol. 2) #1.
