Space Jam was a lightning in a bottle situation: quality of it aside, it came out in the right moment, guaranteeing lots of attention. And then nostalgiafags (and Lolafags) would member it.

That too.

I was convinced for the longest time that the female lead was played by Jamie Lee Curtis.

A good chunk of Space Jam involved Michael Jordan, who was still a very popular name in 1997. Back in action only had Brendan Frasier going for it.

Pirates of the Caribbean syndrome, giving too much foccus on the straight-man characters while also trying to push that they have more appeal than they can provide.
Brendan, Martin and Danny Elfman's nepo-nephew are turned into awkward voids of laughter when put against what is honestly some very decent Looney Tunes scenes, you can actually feel the cold silence when they are on screen. It's even worse that Daffy and Bug's plot feels so detached from whatever was happening with the """"MAIN""" plot, it feels like those Tom and Jerry + movie DVD movies
It's funny that they were trying to revitalize the Looney Tunes into the mainstream (like they've been trying since the 90s) with the HOLLYWOOD STAR POWER OF... 2003 Brendan Fraser and Steve Martin, they might as well have casted Whoopi Goldberg and Travolta

Just to add, you know how in the Muppets movies the chemistry between the puppets and actors works because they interact with each other like they are in the same level? This movies does the oppositive of that
