How happy would you have been to go to Pizza Planet as a kid?

It would have been exciting certainly but I've never been a real life equivalent establishment and left without getting violently ill.

Was Pizza Planet supposed to be inspired by a real place? Nothing as cool as this comes to mind.

I always imagined it as being like Pizza Hut but with games and stuff.

Very happy. I lived in a small town, so the closest I got to a Pizza Planet was the Chuck E. Cheese whenever someone in my class had a birthday party. I had a cousin that lived in Chicago and he went to a pizza place that had a rollercoaster in it. I was so jealous. As a kid I thought that everything existed somewhere, and that there would always be time enough for me to go and see it all. Pizza Planet was part of that fantasy. I always imagined that there was a place like that out there. --Why else would it be in the movie?-- and that someday I'd get a chance to go somewhere really cool like that. Maybe for my birthday.

I never did though. And my birthday is nothing to celebrate anymore.

This was their equivalent of Chuck E Cheese (which is definitely a recurring element in cartoons from the 90s onwards), just trading the show for more theming around the cabinets.
So everyone already knows how they would feel about this place

It's meant to be a Chuck E Cheeses type place.

Pretty disappointed, my dad used to take me to a two story sports bar and grill with an huge arcade on the second floor. God, those cheeseburgers were amazing. Whole place smelled like beer, warm pretzels and cheese sauce.
