Pros

>Good family dynamics (though I think the 2005 version still did it a little better).
>Efficient worldbuilding.
>Neat retro-futuristic production design.
>Sweeping score, though I was surprised how little they used the “FAN-TAS-TIC FOOOOUUUUR” chant after spamming it in the trailer.
>The best CGI Marvel has had in a while, give or take a couple of scenes.
>Balanced tone that lets the serious moments breathe.
>Tight pacing overall.
>Silver Surfer wormhole chase and F4 vs Galactus were great setpieces.
>Galactus in general was great, very intimidating, and felt like both a force of nature and a petty cunt when he wants to be.
>Reed and Sue had really good, believable chemistry.
>Johnny actually got to be smart and resourceful.
>Generally standalone, didn’t sacrifice its setting and tone to build up Doomsday.

Cons

>First 15 minutes were pretty choppy due to the recut Red Ghost sequence.
>CGI Franklin was uncanny in some scenes.
>Ben did next to nothing and felt pretty disconnected from the others. Even the “It’s clobberin’ time” sequence felt flat.
>Most of the jokes didn’t land, but then again they seemed to be going for mild chuckles over big laughs anyway.
>The world turning on the F4 subplot was solved very abruptly (a victim of reshoots, Marvel probably didn’t want to paint the population negatively)
>Mole Man was alright but pretty superfluous.
>Silver Surfer was underused, deserved more scenes.

7.5/10.

Ben was too soft, he needed to be a little gruffer and angrier.

>Movie is dogshit.
>Anon gives it a 7.5 instead of a 3.
This is exactly why we keep getting garbage. Studios will point at that retard and be like, see, see, people liked the movie. All while blaming the low sales on Trump or whatever, when the reality of it is that people didn't like the movie.

he didn't really have much to do desu. just pilots the ship. even his hyped "it's clobbering time" moment is just him ineffectively bumping into Galactus and then eating pavement

But most people did like the movie and it had the biggest opening day of the year so far.

>Mole Man was alright but pretty superfluous.
I remember thinking that the Mole Man subplot felt super tacked on with no real build-up as to why he would just up and agree to saving all the surface people only to google it and find out that the backstory is all contained in a prequel comic that shows that during their initial fight he also was expecting a child and gave up the fight in order to prevent it from being harmed. Why the fuck wasn't that in the movie? That would have been easy setup and pay off and it would show mutual respect between FF and Mole Man

nice visuals, serious characters, trash 3rd act

There's mutiple reasons why Fiege's SON couldn't get into Marvel until he played Marvel RIVALS

>trash third act
Cannot be overstated enough because it utterly butchers all the promising concepts introduced in the first act. Literally ruins the entire movie for no good reason.

It was meh. Not bad but not good. It’s weird how whenever Disney puts out these obligatory super safe MCU films (see Cap 1 and Ant Man), the critics who are usually critical of everything go nuts over them. What is that? Even critical drinker gave it a glowing review.

Yeah but Drinker's only requirement to give a film a positive review is if it didn't hurt his feelings. He's far from a competent critic.

The actors playing Sue and Reed phoned it in, the Thing was too mild, but that’s how the actor was told to play it, I guess. Best was Johnny. The others barely registered.
