The problem with modern Spiderman is that his humour lacks the edge from the early days.

I wouldn't call that edge, but it was pretty funny
i think the 90s show did a fine job of maintaining this feel

Kek. I wouldn't say it's the main problem but it is an issue.

He's not allowed to say anything that might hurt a criminal's feelings

He's "aww shucks man get my joke haha get it cause it's like...awkward... Sorry i gues it wasn't funny" forever now

That finisher was clean.
I do miss Spidey using his wits to confound instead of just mildly annoy people.
It helped remind us how much Peter was holding in the cannister.

He definitely needs to more of a dick again. Between his sass mouth and his hot temper he's really lost a lot of defining traits in the favor of OMG PARKER LUCK LOSER.
>Let's throw him against the wall and see if it sticks.

Oh yeah, the spider humor has certainly taken a dive. The only way I can describe the current Spider-Man dialogue is... stand-up comedy. Just Peter endlessly and desperately doing stand-up and hoping something lands. Self-deprecation is always relatable right? So that's gonna be the most common joke used.

I would be interesting to classify Spider-Man comics in 'eras' based on how he quips during that period.

The bigger issue for me is Peter himself having absolutely zero edge. He's become a total doormat and a magnet for nonsensical lectures from his supporting cast. What's left of them anyway
