Because adding cel animated characters to live action is harder than adding CGI ones. Must be cheaper too. There's no way studios don't know it looks like shit but if it saves them a shekel, they will pretend it doesn't.

>Just saw the first footage of Wile E. discovering Will Forte's law firm through a funny commercial that references tons of classic LT cartoons and all of Wile E's failed ACME products. It was set to Johnny Cash's Hurt

>Animation looks super crisp BTW

>They are referring to Warner Bros. as ACME throughout the whole panel for legal reasons

>ANIMATED PETER LORRE IS IN COYOTE VS. ACME

>Bugs Bunny is a whistleblower in the Coyote trail

>scene description from #SDCC2025 - Will stands nervously in court during “all rise.” Coyote gives a confident gesture. “Please be seated.” The judge, Luis Guzman, opens the case with a real and cartoon gavel. He bangs the cartoon gavel, and it squeaks. Coyote holds a sign: “Acme Sucks.” Guzman declares he’s a no-nonsense judge. John Cena sips water before opening remarks, mocking Wile’s pursuit of the bird, saying Acme products aren’t designed to catch birds. “He’s reckless; his injuries are self-inflicted.” He ends with “God bless the troops.” Will says, “That was really good.” The stenographer records it. He says, “Please don’t write that down,” but it’s recorded too. Will spills water on himself and the table, stammers, says gobbledygook, and objects to himself. Wile displays Acme products as evidence, including a rocket skate with a faulty switch. Will says, “Nothing,” but the rocket zooms around, chasing the judge in a court drawing. Cut to Will in a hotel room. He gets a call. “What’s up, doc?” Bugs Bunny, withholding his identity, says he has information to end Acme. He gives the address: 666 Scary Road Drive, warning, “Acme has eyes and ears everywhere,” then hangs up.

Yeah, but it was shit. Looney Tunes Cartoons was in general shit and had too much naked ass jokes and grossout, it felt more like Cow & Chicken/Ren & Stimpy than Looney Tunes, they also spammed Daffy and Porky every single episode and never used some characters like Speedy and Pepe, Taz only showed up in 4 shorts, but Beaky was in 8 and so on

The script was almost a 1 to 1 carbon copy of the Chip N Dale movie, they had Peter Pan as the main villain for example (apparently Pluto was originally the main villain in the script), here they did something similar they picked Foghorn because he's recognizable enough to work as shock value, but not popular enough to ruin his character

Why get mad over a Looney Tunes character being used in an antagonistic role? They're like in-universe performers, playing whatever role fits the story as long as there's ample opportunity to do their shtick. Same thing with The Muppets. You can do almost anything with the characters.

>The characters are all CGI
Why the fuck did everyone even want this movie, then? Why all the clamor about "saving animation" around this? It doesn't look any different than that Tom & Jerry movie they put out a couple years ago.

from what I’m hearing, it’s some clusterfuck of both hand-drawn and CGI

They did this for fixed as well. Maybe we shouldn’t trust what animation nerds on twitter say

So whatever happened to the news about WB potentially selling off the Looney Tunes IP to someone else? Is that still gonna happen or is Zaslav actually going to put some money down to try and save the brand?

To save animation you have to be willing to try ideas that may not work.

They said they had big plans for the brand in 2028 but that's it. There are no other upcoming projects so far.

...why? Let's just pretend Bugs didn't crossdress for like 15 seconds. Cuz that was honestly that film's high point.

Bugs has never had a single film that was about or starred himself.
>Space Jam - Main character is Michael Jordan
>Back in Action - Main character is Daffy Duck
>Space Jam 2 - Main character is Lebron James
>Day the Earth Blew Up - Main characters are Daffy and Porky, Bugs doesn't even appear or is referenced
>Coyote vs Acme - Main characters are Wile and Kevin Avery, Bugs only appears as a voice cameo (and the copout is it isn't even him)

Seemed to be at least looked at and decided against
They are splitting off the cable channels and loading it with most of the debt so it will die off. Warner will be a mostly clean slate and keep Looney Tunes as one of its IPs

Yeah but bugs is functionally the second lead, and got top billing alongside Jordan in the ads.

Arguably Daffy has gotten the most attention to this point
Looney Tunes 2028 might change that, I would assume Bugs will be definite lead in that
