I only vaguely remember the '90s cartoon from childhood and that's about all I know of it Is it still popular? I feel like Babar has almost completely disappeared from public conciousness, at least in my cunt.

Yes, Babar was orphaned by a hunter. He fled to the nearest city, which is populated by white people in 1920s clothes, and a lady takes pity on him by letting him move in with her and giving him money to buy clothes. Two of his naked, four-legged cousins miss him and the first thing Babar does when they find him in the city is make them put on clothes.
