Joe Carnahan wanted to do a Daredevil film set in the 1970s and 80s but it was getting close to the deadline for the Daredevil rights to revert. Fox requested an extension, Marvel wanted the film rights to Silver Surfer and Galactus in exchange for that extension. Fox declined and Daredevil went back to Marvel and we got the Netflix series

On this same topic, during the 80's we almost got a Silver Surfer rock opera film. Paul McCartney would've worked on the soundtrack, while Frank Zane and Olivia Newton would've star as Norrin Radd and Ardina. Pic relatedwas a test of the Surfer's design.

In the first film adaptation of TMNT back in the 90s, there's a line removed from the movie that shows up in the novelization. April's assessment of Michaelangelo while everyone is recuperating at the farmhouse following the antique shop fight. The dialogue would've been set to footage of Mikey furiously training in the barn to the point of property damage.

In the late 80s there was a Betty Boop movie being tossed around Hollywood that was being considered because of the success of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Eventually it got picked up in 1993 and production started to get rolling. It had full scripts written, VAs chosen, and animatics along with some early animation tests ready to go before it was suddenly axed due to a ton of issues with conflicting rights. Almost everything about it's been either lost to time or shoved in a storage shed somewhere in Hollywood, but this animatic along with full vocals for a musical scene has managed to make its way online.

He'd make us turn it down whenever he heard Lazlo or the dung beetles speak. I have a lengthy one that not many seem to know about.

Bee movie was not originally the concept Jerry Seinfeld was hired to make at Dreamworks.
The original idea was to make a Beatles knockoff but with the Seinfeld gang as the band members getting popular and fame going to Jerry's head. It was a talking animal world and designs were never finalized, the band members were concepted as dogs, penguins and birds. Problems came up when the studio could not get Jason Alexander, then they lost Julia Lewis Dreyfus when she landed a starring role on a series.

The project fell apart when they could not get the full Seinfeld cast but they could not drop the whole thing since Jerry was hired on a pay or play so they had him quickly write a B Script with the remaining crew and he wrote the B-Movie to be made instead. Whole film is a pun on the fact that it was the B-Movie.
