On my first King of the Hill watch-through from the beginning and just started Season 4 (after Peggy's near-death experience). I'm surprised so many fans of the show apparently hate(?) her. More than that, I'm confused as to how she's apparently supposed to get flanderized post-skydive. Peggy's always had a chip on her shoulder, so I really don't see how that can even happen but I guess I'll see how her character progresses.

Note: I find her hilarious and the writing constantly ridicules some of her more egregious behavior. Peggy's one of my favs so far

Hank literally says he's not into "sexy types." But also Peggy's probably not really supposed to look ugly, like on a base level, so much as she has stupid hair and dresses in a lame way and so ends up presenting herself as worse/older than she actually could look. Bobby said she looked beautiful when he saw an older photo of her and didn't realize who it was.

She looks better on the really rare occasions you see her with loose hair.

You can be attracted to someone without them being "cute" in the traditional sense. But now when they're married and have a child there's also the sense of obligation holding them together.

That said, I don't think Peggy is ugly or that she's supposed to look ugly. She's normal. It's her personality that's shit.

Ginormous feet aside, is Peggy not considered decent-looking? She cleaned up well in the prostitute episode. Bill and Hank both find her attractive. Based on how the show portrays attractive and unattractive women, she seems like a solid 6 or 7.

Before they settled into making Peggy more of a comical, foolish character and she was more a salt-of-the-earth voice of reason, I think there were quite a few characters who expressed an attraction to her. I imagine she had kind of a plain, everyday, approachable beauty to her.
