Was Cars 2 always supposed to be a theatrical movie? I liked it and all but to me it really has one of those "straight to video sequel" type stories.

Cars 2 was baffling, prior to then Pixar have released masterpiece after masterpiece and then they all of the sudden release a film that’s not only not good, but shit. I was like 5 when this film came out and enjoyed it because I was a retarded kid, but I can only imagine how mindboggling this films quality was to Pixar fans back then.

Why do people call this slop? It's a fun, action packed movie.
