>Super hero comedy show.
>Same creators as Phineas & Ferb.
>Show somehow ends up being mid.
How?
>>149798003 (OP)it was actually pretty fun all things considered
It was okay, although I feel it was a downgrade from Milo's Murphy's Law, which itself was a downgrade from Phineas and Ferb.
Considering how good they were at mixing comedy and action in the Perry the Platypus side plots, you'd expect a show where the premise is all about mixing comedy with super hero action to be one of the highlights of the Disney Channel when it came out, but I guess not.
>>149798003 (OP)Hamster & Gretel was developed at the height of the pandemic and thus wasn't given much of a budget nor the extra time necessary to iron out the kinks in the series concept. Phineas and Ferb, on the other hand, had about 16 years of retooling and refining before it went into production. Dan Povenmire's sense of humor is stuck in the '90s, and H&G made that especially clear.
>>149798003 (OP)Only ONE of the creators did this. The other one wasnโt involved.
>>149798003 (OP)I have yet to watch it completely, but the fact that they didn't include Doof (I know he makes a cameo) as a recurring character, puts it above Milo.

>>149798651>I know he makes a cameo Two of them, actually. And neither comes about naturally. Dan sure loves his "shared universes," but he has no idea how to be casual about it.
>>149798768I'd take a couple awkward cameos over literally insterting him into the show as a main character, really felt like they weren't that interested in the MML characters at that point.
Also, what's the other one? I'm only aware of the Balloony one.
Will Jenny ever be acknowledged again?
>>149798003 (OP)It's the best dtva show from the 20s at least
>>149798003 (OP)It was fun, the funniest show on Disney in a long time (besides StuGo) Kevin is best character.
>>149800141Lol not even in the Top 3
>>149798529Why wasn't the other one involved? Did they have a falling out?
>>149801962Hey don't drag Swampy into this. He's still cool https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VINiMfuuCNA
>>149798003 (OP)Because the concept was executed better by Weird Al Yankovic ages ago.
>>149802098I'm very nostalgic for early 2000s digital animation
>>149798918It's annoying because while MML had the more interesting main cast, H&G was given the freedom to stand on its own. Each show has its own shortcomings.
>>149798918he sold one of the villains an inator
>>149802056These bumpers were awesome, kinda weird how Povenmire didn't make one too
>Today I will remind them...

>>149798505Sheโs Scottish-Venezuelan.
>>149798003 (OP)>>149798077>>149798498>>149804394I think they really wanted to do more P&F than any original ideas desu.
You can tell by the amount of effort that's put into his shows contrast to P&F.
Is it ever going to come back for S3?
I feel alot more can be explored.
>>149810424I hope so, I enjoyed this show a lot. It's not like it did poorly either.
I hope we get a massive 2-3 hour crossover of all of Dans shows
>>149798003 (OP)>>149811498I guess the main problem is that the brother is the actual MC, while the girl and the hamster are more like plot devices. This makes the show insanely inane.
>>149811873The problem isn't that Hamster and Gretel are glorified plot devices; it's that they're BORING plot devices. Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher managed to be plenty captivating despite servicing Candace's role as the true protagonist.
>>149810359Shame. I really liked Milo Murphy's Law.
The first season, at least.
>>149806982Surprise no one has bought up that Hamster and Gretel has hinted at Doof relapsing back into evil before the revival.
Also here's a blink and you missed it from episode 16 from season 2.
>>149812704While Doof may have not doing outright evil on the show (as we know about, Hamster and Gretel timeline in the Dan and Swampy Universe is a bit messy) he was selling off inators that he probably made in the past before or after going straight in Phineas and Ferb original series ending. Since we know that not all of Doof's inventions don't last more than just a day.
>>149806982>>149812704>>149812781It's funny to think that this is the closest that Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated is to being an actual corporation that does business compared to Heinz's usual schemes for petty revenge and taking over the Tri-State Area.
>>149799940Her big bush and unshaved pits better be.
I ended up loving this little guy way more than I thought I would. His dry humor added so much and made up for the comedic vacuums that were Gretel and Bailey.
>>149798505Phineas's head was not meant to be portrayed in three dimensions
>>149798003 (OP)The whole show was probably just born out of a "Hansel and Gretel" pun that Povenmire found funny.
>>149809799Some of those incidentals make me wanna vomit. Why is H&G such a HUGE departure from the classic Dwampy style we all know and love? You would think that after over a decade of perfecting this style, H&G would be the best a Dwampy show has ever looked!
