I think the Spider-bite is the coolest way anybody has gotten their powers before. I'm biased though. Maybe Hulk is close. However the best imagery ever associated with an origin has got to be Batman with TDKR and Year One both making it look awesome. Not sure if any other stories have depicted it in a cool way.

I think the most interesting thing about the Spider-man origin story is the in-between period of him getting powers, and him actually deciding to become a hero.
It pretty rare to see in cape stories.

Pretentious and hot-headed, he was a man of his time. It was also an era of censorship; no mainstream magazine could feature non-white people, and hardly ever in a positive light. Even edgy magazines like Mad didn't feature non-white people, and when they did, it was in wild parodies, most of which were racist.

I feel like Doc Ock is better chud representation.
