>>149861660 (OP)It's very stylish, action packed, humorous, and full of themes.
>>149861660 (OP)The lore. THE FUCKING LORE WAS AMAZEBALLS.
>>149861714>>149861688Back then nobody cared just for lore
>>149861660 (OP)I guess Fixed really killed off Genndy's career uh?
This crap always looked like some low-effort Flash cartoon you'd see on Newgrounds. I was amazed to find out this shit actually has a rabid fanbase.
>>149861688You would get the occasional good action scene but majority of time it was whatever, the lack of talking made it dull to sit trough, every episode is more or less the same, and having Jack choose deliberately to not use any of the time portals he came across just because someone was suffering right before his eyes made the non-existent story come off as retarded.
>>149861721people cared for lore, just not in american cartoons.
>>149861737I think in many of the cases it was a monkey's paw.
>>149861737>>149861785Sorry that you need a costant insflux of noise to stay focused
>>149861734There was nothing that looked anywhere near as good as Samurai Jack on Newgrounds at the time you delusional weirdo.
>>149861660 (OP)The dude releases one shitty film about fucking dogs, and now the world is out to get him.
>>149862336Tbf, /co/ was already bitter over Samaurai Jack's and Primal's endings and Unicorn: Warrior Eternals being underwhelming
>>149861660 (OP)it paved the way for fixed
>>149862360was there any zoophilia in Samurai Jack like there was in Dexter?
I like Samurai Jack, but at the same time it’s pretty crazy to me that the original shoe was lauded for its plot when it was pretty clear they had no intention of “finishing” the story back then. Samurai Jack wore the disguise of a serialized, story-based anime series but was in all honesty just another episodic cartoon. A good one, but it’s clear to me as an adult that they never intended on finishing the story, they just wanted to make an atmospheric action show with artistic focus. There truly wasn’t anything else like it at the time, at least in the west, it felt like the closest that American TV animation ever came to being high art. Feels wild to me that only half a decade before it premiered, every single cartoon on TV was just trying to be Ren and Stimpy.
>>149861714What lore? All of it that mattered was recapped in the opening.
