Post a cartoon made for children, and then post a way you think it would be different if it were made for adults, instead.

To start things off, I've always figured that if ATLA were an adult cartoon Toph would curse a lot. Given her backstory and her personality she just feels like she'd be a total potty mouth if Avatar was an M-Rated cartoon.

I dunno why, but I think Katara would be a functional alcoholic. She just seems the type. I dunno if it'd be a major plot point, but, I think it's how it would shake out.

This is how adult swim parodies came to be, "what if classic cartoon characters swore and drank?" and darn it, were them fun

There'd probably be at least some blood and death in Kim Possible if it were an adult cartoon.
