Whats the lore of the locust and cog army in gears of war comics? Do the locust have a similar camaraderie to that of the cog? Why are the COG constantly referred to as pigs and fascists in the games when they never really show why they earnt that?

Nah the locust were fucking masochist psychopaths on average. Rational and socially functional of course, they had a greatly succesful complex society, but insane masochist psychopaths nonetheless. The brothers in ams relationship between Skorge and Raam akin to Dom and Marcus is implied to be a rarity among the horde. Must have been many more cases of camaraderie like that but they were definitely uncommon.

The COG were the aggressors in the Pendulum Wars. The UIR were Russian adjacent but they were actually more akin to being America. The COG were a mix of whatever flavor of dictatorship you wanted

The COG is like NATO having done away with national states, with all that fascist stuff, like: socialism, everything within the state, nothing outside the state, worship of political leaders and so on.

Gears of War comics are also major since characters like Tai and Jace were comic only guys at first back when everyone wanted a multi media franchise

The problem with this not being so obvious in the games is that the planet is going to hell, so there's not much to think about. Marcus hates the COG, but he knows it's the only way to survive. Anya is more of an idealist; she truly believes in the COG.

It was a great comicbook with liam sharp's art.
Also Alex brand arc was kino, and the first one with jace and garrick. Tai issue, sargen't harper, horrman storyarc was cool.

The COG were one of two global supernation/alliances that spent 70 years killing each other and commiting tons and tons of warcrimes, whoever was "in the right" at the start of the conflict is basically arbitrary, COG also completed the Hammer Of Dawn first so basically imagine a super militaristic government that now has uber nukes that basically no one can reach or disarm because it's in space and shit. When the Locusts came out they became even worse. They literally started putting every body they could on the frontline, they gave 12-14 year old girls hormones and chemicals to produce more babies at breeding camps, the sterile girls were conscripted into the army. Etc. Etc. They're pretty hardcore.
