You gotta admit that Katzenberg made some very interesting CGI movies after leaving Disney, although only one of them became a pop-culture phenomenon (Shrek)

I don't know a lot about DreamWorks' studio history but I do find it somewhat amusing that they made The Prince of Egypt (very little comedy) and have never attempted anything semi-serious since. I respect it
