What do you think about super powered heroes killing
It's kinda easy play off street levels like Punisher or moon knight killing dudes. Having a morals off City buster is a bit different.
Anonymous No.150756858 [Report]
If they are friends with the cops they shouldnt kill, if they are trying to influence culture or start a movement (Punisher war on crime) killing makes sense. If they are fighting a world ending threat killing also makes sense. But killing kinda petty criminals on the streets is a bit much, even Punisher is usually traversing different countries or fighting obscure mercs in the third world hes not just hunting in NYC all the time.

They should only kill non-humans or extremely dangerous supervillains. Regular human and minimally-powered villains should be dealt with by the legal system, though they should kill them for any major crime.

>posts 90s Sersi
>wants the same old tired debate about superheroes killing
Couldn't you just make a 90s Sersi thead, OP?

It's the exact same as normal people IRL. Whether killing is wrong or fine entirely depends on the details. Who are you killing, why and how? There's millions of people IRL who deserve to be killed and there's no reason comic universes would be different.

Really depends on the hero, the dudes they're killing and the situation
Wolverine slaughtering dudes? That's fine.
Spiderman? Hell no.
The X-men practicing GoW style executions on unpowered Orchis goons because it's "war"? Get the fuck out of here.
Seriously though don't have them execute dudes if they kill it needs to be in the heat of combat
Seriously

>Wolverine slaughtering dudes? That's fine.
Not really, because it's usually Wolverine (or some similar hero) killing normie goons who pose no real threat to him, usually slaughtering his way through henchmen, or worse security staff or soldiers just doing their jobs, combined with him then treating killing the actual bad guy like it's a difficult moral decision, and probably leaving him alive because he's an important piece of intellectual property to the company.

OP's Avengers story had the context that a villain was gradually making Sersi become more violent and unstable, but has the great moral dilemma of what the hell can the other heroes even do if the most powerful member of the team, by a considerable margin, suddenly decides to start taking the law into her own hands and executing people.

It's extremely based. It acknowledges how the people they protect have no luxury of shrugging off bullets and flying criminals into jail with no danger.

I support it. It is one of the reason I love old school Kamen Rider. Now, do EVERY villain need to die? No, but many of your /co/ villains have been given too many chances to live.
Anonymous No.150761457 [Report]
I find it very tiresome to have heroes kill henchmen and goons without issue only to hesitate at killing the one in charge of them
There are plenty of scenarios where killing someone can be justified but bringing some weird moral issue with it after already slaughtering people makes no sense

Depends on the hero and depends on the villain

There’s this misconception that heroes aren’t supposed to kill, which I think is cringe. Batman and Superman simply have an in universe no kill rule that they set on themselves. But I’m in the camp that Wonder Woman should kill, cause the role model angle is lame and boring
Anonymous No.150761583 [Report]
Heroes and Vigilantes shouldn't kill in general.

Depends on the superhero and the frequency.
Some heroes should never kill, like Batman or Spider-Man.
Some heroes should be able to kill in very specific life-or-death scenarios like Wonder Woman, Superman, or the like.
Some heroes, who are more on the anti-hero like Moon Knight, should be able to kill quite frequently.

>Wolverine slaughtering dudes? That's fine.
Why should he be the exception? Other characters with far more killing potential than him have more than enough restraint to not engage in wanton slaughter.

>Some heroes, who are more on the anti-hero like Moon Knight, should be able to kill quite frequently.
The problem with this is that they aren't ostracized for that behavior enough by the non-crazies. Even though Moon Knight gets called crazy by various characters, he is generally kept within reach rather than flat out told to stay the fuck away.

So what? They're still no threat to Wolverine, so there's no need for him to kill them. They're no threat to anyone except NPC mutants who existed only to get killed so that Marvel can keep doing "mutant genocide" stories. Those mutants and those stories both simply shouldn't exist in the first place.

There's even less need for Wolverine to be killing dudes in bar fights, or killing security guys or soldiers standing between him and the real bad guy he won't actually end up killing anyway.
