Objective fact: if Coco had Book of Life's artstyle, that would be 11/10.
Still prefer BoL though, Coco's kinda... generic. People love it mostly for the ending. The ending's great too, but I mean, "bringing someone back from literal/metaphorical death via music" is a pretty old trope.
Book of Life, I dunno, I like most of the movie, but they should've either swapped Creep out or made it a bit more... "Mexican". It stuck out like a sore thumb because they didn't do enough with it to make it feel like it fits, like all the other songs in the movie.
The only other complaint I can ever come up with is that Zoe Saldana can literally only play girlboss characters and it makes every character she play just clones of each other. I mean hell, she even plays the female pirate captain in the MLP movie and breaks free of her funk to become a girlboss and have her own song because that's literally all Zoe S can ever do.
