I honestly don't understand my relationship with South Park

I got bored of the show a few years back, it just stopped making me laugh. Came back to it, watched all the old episodes, loved it and even liked some of the newer stuff which previously I was bored of. Firmly excited for new season, even played the game and liked that.
New Season comes and I'm bored of it. It's not making me laugh at all. I don't know if it's one of those where because I'm waiting for the episodes my expectations are much higher whereas when you're just bingeing through shit you can get away with a giggle here or there over 20 minutes.
