When Kirkman admitted that he was running out of ideas and the comic had no direction but he would keep it going for as long as it was profitable

Man, you really forget that Shane went out like a total bitch in the comics compared to the show. Letting him live was pretty much the only good decision the showrunners ever made.

It's actually hilarious how even in season 2, you could already see how the show was decaying.

the comic? around the time they made it to that gated community. I was already getting bored of the prison thing but once we got there I just realized the story was just gonna be the same shit with a new back drop every arc.

the show? after the first episode. dropped it officially after like the second episode of them being in the lab in season 2.

how do you manage to make zombies boring? the only time I've had a worse experience with zombies is when marvel did it.

They only time I "cared" for TWD was the first season of the Telltale game. After that, I had my fill and never "cared" in any meaningful way anymore.

Same. I was running on fumes during that section, but when Carl got shot in the head and I realized I just didn't care was when I finally stopped.

Doesn't he say that about every comic he works on? that he only has enough story for a few volumes and then its whatever he's throwing at a wall

Ah, Arvo. Chances are that he and the rest of traitors died, running on foot in the middle of the night during a blizzard seems like a easy way to get killed. Apart from cameos from the comic characters, I don't think any game character made the jump to the comics.

Never cared, cared even less when I found out there's literally no real lore or origin for the zombies, lazy ass world building and I'm tired of pretending it isn't.

I only watched the show and quite frankly after Rick left it was so over.
I know everyone says this, but it really ruined it and that was the point they started milking Daryls and Carols petite little nipples for as much "Badass of the Group can just as well (if not better) survive the apocalypse alone" bullshit as they possibly could

A fucking cashgrab written by someone that had no interest in making an actual sequel to the Telltale series. Even that idea was bad from the get go because even though choices are a meme in those games, the people that played the games do care about their personal choices, trying to move the story to a different medium was going to piss people off because it would make some choices canon. Worst part is how the writer just rebooted the setting and made Clementine abandon her status quo just because, the writer wanted to do some shit that she could relate to her.

LOL, no, of course not. Maybe read the first several issues while it's still world building and hasn't gone into retarded drama yet.

If you like the games, you'd probably like the comics too. Don't know why other anon keeps going on about worldbuilding (when there is, just not to extent he'd like it) when literally both the telltale games and the comic primary appeal is the drama

I'm a little ashamed to admit it, but I dropped it like a stone when the art switched in chapter 2 from those nice greytones to this more contrast-heavy style. I suppose it's appropriate for the subject matter, but to me it just felt like a downgrade.
I like the plot okay (watched until the prison season when the show was fresh), but the dialogue in the comic is pretty bad. Everyone talks like they're in a stageplay and the arguments (which are 70% of the scenes) just feel like the internal monologue of the author rather than a discourse between unique characters. Maybe it didn't help that I was also rewatching lost when I picked up this Library Edition. Been collecting dust on my shelf for around 7 years I think.

That's different, Oda has the main structure mostly figured out but plugs in lots of useless filler and detours, probably for the sake of the publisher. You can really tell by how he utilizes editor creations like the supernovae - they get lots of screentime relative to the crew, but the overall plot would be the same if they didn't exist.
