I like Noodle and how she's constantly reinventing herself with new styles for every phase but if I'm being honest her latest look was fucking dogshit.
I'd sooner fap to wrinkly old hag Noodle than this terrible design, which is saying something.
>>151102846 >Why did Jamie make this
You think that's bad? Pic-related is the single pic that made all of /co/ collectively decide Jamie was a footfag.
Sure you got some Noodle feet back during the Plastic Beach era but once you start drawing feet with overly detailed foot wrinkles than it's over everyone knows what you're up to.
>>151102926
I'm still not convinced Hewlett is an actual foot fetishist. You watch Tarantino movies and his love of feet is very clear it's a pattern it shows up again and again.
But one pic of Noodle's feet over multiple decades of making comics is not enough for me to assume he's a footfag. Real footfags would probably have been making tons of feet art over the years.

Maybe I'll check again. But I listed to Humanz and the one after that and it just was very underwhelming. Also it's clear thar Jaime works on like 1/4th of the art put out and seems to have much less input on the project with every new album. The last thing that really felt like gorillaz to me was the converse commercial, after they came back from that long hiatus it just wasn't the same
>>151102968
The reason it feels Jamie has less input is because they keep canceling the movies and shows they tried making. The characters haven’t been fortunate enough to be as prominent in the project as Damon’s shit
>>151102962
I think Noodle is probably Hewlett's favorite character to draw too. I remember decades ago he was bitching about how he was bored of Gorillaz due to drawing the same characters again and again.
Most Gorillaz members look mostly the same through the years but with Noodle he is constantly changing her appearance. Not even just between albums/phases but even for just a single music video he can randomly decide she has orange hair and Noodle only looks like that for that one single music video. Changing her look as she goes from a child to an adult is natural but even outside that he seems to like experimenting with different looks for Noodle in particular.
>>151102926
It's so evident isn't it. A lot of the newer Gorillaz stuff looks almost too close to references, it makes them look too realistic, too uncanny.
>>151103258
She was both. For how shitty her hair looked in phase 7, they still went out of their way to give her sexy clothes. According to the Cracker Island video’s storyboard, she was supposed to be wearing panties instead of booty shorts
>>151103290
I think it's really noticeable because Jaime's art was so stylized. So seeing them pretty much forced to take on the shape of normal human being feels weird. It's sad because sometimes he draws them like he used to and they look great and you just wish he'd just do that instead
>>151102864
I’ll be honest, this whole time I thought this was fanart.
Considering Tank Girl though, it’s not a shock that Jamie might have some weird kinks.
>>151104371
I like it in a likely unintentional way, as a song of the manifestation of a true Icon, the sort of leader that idealized dictatorships dream up, the leader that can actually manifest a better world by his sheer presence, crops grow taller, women birth healthier babies, that sort of thing.
>>151104688
Hewlett is pretty inconsistent with how he draws Noodle. So sometimes she looks decent and sometimes she has a weirdly large amount of wrinkles for someone her age (especially as a Japanese person who are notorious for not aging much till they REALLY get old).
It's kind of up to what Hewlett feels like drawing that day on what kind of Noodle you'll get.
>>151104371
Good. I always prefer songs where Damon is the main guy singing and whoever's collaborating is just a backup singer. Some tracks recently often feel like some other singer's song first and a Gorillaz track second. You could argue the Manifesto, the other track they released, is like that.
>>151105676
Hewlett values emotion over character consistency/being on model. If he wants CUTE Noodle he draws her smooth if he wants grungy Nood;le he draws her grungy.
>>151110063
Getting horny over western depictions of Asian women can be surprisingly difficult because if you look up "asian comic porn" you'll probably just get a bunch of generic Japanese hentai.
There is a reason Noodle is so popular because it goes hard into anon's yellow fever while also having a firly unique artstyle you can't find elsewhere.
>>151110476
No, I get all that - but the newer versions of the character designs are crap. Noodle had terrific designs arguably up through Plastic Beach and then they just tanked. And so did the music.
The song was originally supposed to have lyrics saying "it's there" but since it sounded like he was saying "IT'S DARE" Damon Albarn just said fuck it and went with the messed up pronunciation.
>>151110713
The first version of Noodle had a similar problem to Ed from Cowboy Bebop. A brown Japanese girl that many people assumed was actually a boy.
Obviously it becomes much more obvious that Noodle is female as she got older and developed tits but a lot of people genuinely thought Noodle was a boy based on the youngest version of her.
>>151111340
The weird thing about Plastic Beach era Noodle is that by that point she was already in her 20s, so she is an adult.
Yet for future versions of Noodle she keeps developing an even more adult body so it's like puberty caught up to her in her 20s and suddenly she got tits and curves.
>>151103258 >>151103352
It's their fault ultimately for breaking up only to return roughly around the time noodle would hit the wall.
We basically missed out on prime noodle.
Plastic Beach and the "Broken" video came out in 2010 so yes she was about 19 at the time Plastic Beach released. 20 when the Broken video was posted on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmJZRt3I9D4&list=RDfmJZRt3I9D4&start_radio=1
This means she's in her mid-30s now. Noodle keeps aging but the other members of Gorillaz seem to never age. Damon Albarn who is the main musical artist for Gorillaz and is the voice of 2D is himself 57 years old.
>>151116667
No, the other members also age, 2D is clearly getting older. The thing is that Murdoc is a demon possessed pest that has been around the block so many times he looks like shit at any age and Russell has been possessed and changed so many times it's hard to keep track of his bodily functions.
>>151117132
2D was born in 1978 which means he would be about 46 now. Pic-related is art of him from the most recent album.
He is barely any different from when he first appeared so it makes the fact that Noodle sometimes has more old lady wrinkles than him despite being much younger all the more jarring.
>>151117163
Compare 2D to pic-related of Noodle. Noodle has forehead wrinkles that makes her look like she's older than 2D who has no such wrinkles. Hewlett's art has her aging at an accelerated rate compared to the other Gorillaz members.
