this is always a strange phenomenon to me because I have odd fetishes and while I'm not like "ashamed" by them, I do consider them private and would not consider trying to introduce them to others or make them a part of my life or personality

This shits been happening since at least the 90’s, before then most of these cartoon fetishes were just slapstick or gags. I know a lot about Spumco artists and I’m pretty sure Eddie Fitzgerald, a guy known for his work on Tiny Toons and Ren & Stimpy, is a crossdressing fetishist.

It’s just that it’s hard to tell at times, sometimes these can just be gags, other times they can be actual fetishes, but if one artist does that shit multiple times to the point where it’s would hardly even be funny anymore to them it’s likely a fetish.

I think it isn't as common but it definitely happens. Mao Mao, Totally Spies, and FoP as mentioned are the only ones I can think of. Mao Mao had something related to a character being eaten about every 3 episodes with the creator retweeting stuff about vore often. Totally Spies is probably the weakest since it was so varied I can't tell if it's just "what if Charlie's Angels got into sci fi spy hijinx" or the creators trying to fit every fetish into the show. You can't look at me and say the show with shrinking, weight gain, giantess, two muscle growth, two animal transformations, and much more didn't have some fetish stuff going on.

Totally Spies was outed because people noticed the girls got tied up at such a high rate even compared to other spy media which led into a situation of people analyzing the show assuming writers were putting their own kinks and fetishes. The end result is we will never know how much actually was writer fetish and how much wasn't because people had already been looking at it from the angle of "this is a sex thing, it has to be."
Some moment like the Clover foot shot in the movie or some of the disguises are obvious but others are a bit more out there

My biggest tell is when an artist decides to make a character constantly barefoot 24/7.
There is very few, if any, non fetishy explanations for that.
