Eh, to be fair, the show was never meant to be a serialized cartoon like Owl House or Amphibia, (At least not the kid version of the show we have now.) it was always meant to be more of an episodic villain of the week show with some overarching plot lines like Totally Spies and some versions of Scooby-Doo.
Honestly i'm tired of people judging episodic shows as they are or should be serialized. The community's obsession with continuity, lore and serialization has been a detriment to the episodic cartoons, you know, the style that built up this industry in the first place.
There should be a fine balance between both episodic and serialized yet the community acts like everything should be serialized and everything else shouldn't exist.

People aren't bothered by the lack of an overarching plot in an episodic series; they're bothered by the series' insistence on being a serialized show.
Every episode that doesn't advance the plot feels like a waste of time.

Seriously, you just told me it's episodic but if you really believed in that you wouldn't be calling any episode a waste of time.
Not only that but that's just a pessimistic complaint to begin with. An episode is a waste of time only if it's a bad episode, not if it doesn't advance anything.
I never got this. If people actually like the show they should be happy to get more of what they like, you telling me you want the show to be shorter? You telling me you want less of what you like?
All in all people like you don't actually like these shows, i can't even say that you were ever a fan to begin with. If you were you wouldn't be making such falsely claims that the show is trying to be serialized while making the contradictory claim of it being episodic and judge it as if it's supposed to be serialized, feel like you're just making up excuses to hate on the show.
It's really this kind of mentality that's not only killing cartoons and how they are made but also a poison to how people watch cartoons turning the "community" into the giant group of smug, pretentious, blind haters that they are now.
If you really hate the show then you'd spend less time hating it and actually find something you like.
If you're actually a fan of the show then you wouldn't blindly hate on every little thing and appreciate that you're getting more of what you're a fan of.

I have issues about the cartoon community as a whole, especially cartoon reviewers, and i felt like venting my frustrations.

nta but the thing in Miraculous is that it kinda stopped being episodic by season 2 when they've started expanding on the lore and Gabe then became serialized by season 4 onwards (seriously you can't watch season 5 by skipping episodes).
Hell season 6 despite having a "whatever episode order" has interconnected bits and pieces in even the fillerish episodes that serve to the bigger picture
Case in point, Fury here is first introduced in episode 6, a Kim-centric otherwise fillerish episode, post-credits. Now this upcoming episode reveals it was actually Zoe pulling a Catwalker and her actions may have an impact with the team in the long run

No, the show was always planned to be more complex, even all the way back to the beginning of the series. Not to mention that plenty of serialized shows typically start off as episodic to set up the characters and setting.

Even if it was planned during the time when it was meant to be a darker show for a more adult audience i believe that has been changed to be reworked to a more kid friendly show and became more episodic to work better with it.

Although not helping is that people still had such views on the show even during its earlier seasons but i digress.

The first couple episodes of season 6 sucked but now it's actually starting to get good. Lila's showing more brains in half a season than Gabriel ever did, and they're adding other villains to the mix as well to break up the monotony.

The Stingers are really what's changing things up. A lot of episodes this season have seemed like typical filler only for the stinger to reveal that Lila used it to potentially suss out someones identity or this seemingly one off jerk is actually gonna be important, or there's actually an evil council of villains behind the scenes.

And if the Aglae=Lila thing is proven true that would be the most epic trolling of all time.
