i'm sincerely glad you enjoyed them. i feel like SOL + magic isn't a bad genre but you need likable characters or an interesting world and i don't think this show succeeds at either. the ooo plot is moving at a snail's pace and i could not give less of a fuck about the hunter/felix love triangle especially when the show itself is so tepid about it. clearly the show doesn't care that much about its own plots if it's fucking around with a random cake/cheers subplot. i know the comparison's been done to death but bee and puppycat does this much more effectively because the show is so low stakes and the characters feel more likable/fleshed out. bee is basically the same character as fionna but there's less wallowing in self-pity and more moments of whimsy that make her likable. god i miss bee and puppycat every day
