>>11307892You shouldn't measure games by update frequency. It's an absolute plague on western gamedev that devs are expected to update tiny, incomplete updates as frequently as possible to get as much exposure.
Other than update frequency and volume of content, some games take a lot more work or have less people working on them. With that said ...
Yeah, the only excuse for being slow on a Koikatsu game is that the dev is presumably working a real life job.

what confuses me is when people hit that point then start slacking. like, do you want your luck to fall through and be forced to go back to waging?

>>11304493I should not have played before work, now Im turbo horny for the hellhound twink. Great art, needs way more.
I fucking love hellhounds.
Greetings anons. I wanted to make the jump and start working on a game of my own. I had posted several months ago talking about it but I quit my wagie job recently and figured I might as well try now.
My principal idea was to have it be in a brothel setting with the game focusing on the female characters and potentially having several options for the mc to change interactions and routes. I was thinking femdom themed but I'm not sure how /d/ tier that actually is and it's kind of a wide net since it can encompass a lot of different fetishes. Plus I checked the prior thread and NTR inclusion would trigger many people, even if it's quite a popular one to include. So you'd have to deal with community clashing. I could also make it just NTR but I doubt there's interest for that here.
From an OC standpoint I have several in mind and they were actually the basis for inspiration. Namely a voluptuous Japanese girl that's very hard working and cheerful in her sadism and acquired her physique and fake tits after being bullied as a youth for being flat.
My artwork is still kind of rough but hopefully it'll level up with time.
>>11309133First of all ask yourself if you want to make NTR game. If yes, then by no means do it, there is audience for it. But if you do it it should be main theme or at least important enough. Adding it as minor kink will spook away everybody, while not attracting ntr fags.
>>11309185Hmm, this is a good point. I'd prefer to do femdom since it's more palatable and less autistic fanbase (although it too can encompass many different subcategories so there could be contention there anyway), but NTR has a more devoted community from what I can tell. I think I'll start by making the OCs and some of the assets and then pivot from there once I've shown off some of it on here or /h/ or xitter or wherever else.
>>11309185Better yet: Have some integrity and make the game you need to make. Anti-NTR incels may cry, piss, and shit, but they won't give you any money either way.
>>11309133Take this as a grain of salt as it is coming from a nodev but I think you got things twisted, you shouldn't be thinking of what community is going to like your game but of what kind of game you want to play and would enjoy making.
That is unless you are aiming for a quick buck, if so just go full shitter and make a furry game and open a patreon
Also, art looks nice, game idea looks generic and not thought through
>>11309133>femdomget it girlboss get that bag
>NTRmay hell find you waiting
as with all creative work, until you're experienced and comfortable, you shouldn't create to market. ideally you shouldn't be creating to market at all because it's soulless behavior, but I get you gotta do what you gotta do. however learning a new skill is enough work without grueling through projects you have no interest in
>I'm already comfortable with gamedevthen do whatever you want but you should probably look into the communities and expectations of these genres at all. there are femdom patreon milkers and I'm pretty sure it's an active niche. it is true that NTRfags are the lowest common denominator right now, but I don't know how much that translates to people willing to pay, and I don't know how comparatively viable it is to try and compete in a niche that's as hyper saturated as NTR is. the rate of shovelware and AI NTR slop being churned out is obscene
you missed the gold rush. if you think making an NTR game is easy neetbux I think you're likely mistaken. if you just like NTR and want to make that, go nuts. having any heart in your game at all would already put you heads and shoulders above the current standard
>>11307908Even accounting for a real life job is it crazy to say 2 months for a couple scenes are just a bit much?
The worst part is the game is well paced, it's slow but the buildup is good.
However when the release rate is so much slower the slow burn becomes the paint drying.
>>11309133>NTRYou limit your potential fans to just that specific fanbase. It will repel anyone else just by including it in a minor way. Do it if you personally enjoy it because that will be the one thing you become known for and expected to make in the future.
If you make one NTR game, the assumption is that all your games in the future will include it.
If you ever want to make something that doesn't have it, you're going to face an uphill struggle to get people to even give your other stuff a chance.
New demo available from the dev of Odyssey of Gianna. Similar TF focus, but gameplay is different this time around. They're planning to release the full game within the year.

>>11310044Time spent on custom tile sets takes time away from other content. Besides, the game has 1100 different CG variations in the demo alone. You can't really complain about lack of effort.
>>11310042>>11310045CGs made in kisekae2.swf? lol
>>11310044>>11310045Eccma doesn't make tilesets though.
Secret Flasher Manaka (RJ01389782) came out. From the same dev as Secret Flasher Sereka (RJ01062825).
Fully 3D anime-style game where you play as a woman and walk around in public completing various exhibitionist tasks. There's no actual sex unfortunately, only masturbation and general lewdness. The MC is very customizable including a futa option (has to be unlocked though).
It's a good game, definitely worth trying out. I'm not especially into exhibitionism myself but the game looks good enough that I don't care, it's just fun to walk around as a sexy woman and do lewd things.
>>11310144Sereka's game was great, but it suffered a bit from her getting used to everything too fast. Not very replayable, by the time you unlock all the customization options you could barely get her heart rate up doing the kinkiest shit.
>>11310045>Time spent on custom tile sets takes time away from other contentIf you aren't willing to make something that stands out your other content is probably generic slop too.

If you haven't already, you should check out ero hunters (and the devs other games as well). Most of its base mechanics are in place right now and the dev has an insanely fast development pace putting most other devs to shame.
The game mostly revolves around base building, capturing and breeding monsters girls, dressing them up in restrictive gear and hypnotizing them all in the name of increasing productivity.

Dev here, I'd advise to wait on the public release of 0.3 next week (or get the Patreon version). The current public version is very old and not as good (especially the UI).
Thanks for recommending my game though. I recognize that farm screenshot from a bug report.
>>11310310NTA, but your loss. Odyssey of Gianna was fucking awesome. Awesome enough that I kicked about double the asking price the dev's way, despite her protests. And before you ask, no, I don't make a habit of dumping cash on lewd games, I only give as much as I think it's actually worth.
>>11310986It's not the perfect game, but it really does go the extra mile for the amount of content and effort put into the game.
>>11310990To be fair though, those last 2 effects come from the stickers mod. Which is itself an impressive piece of work, but not attributable to the dev. Anyway, yea, it's not perfect, but given that it's literally the most you can squeeze out of RPGmaker. Vhiel would've put in far more, but the engine literally couldn't take any more.
>>11310990Do these status effects actually do anything beyond -5 def +5 att or something similar to that, which in other games you realistically are going to ignore until you sleep it off or use a panacea.
Just for comparison sake, in COC if you get a tail, it unlocks scenes. In Mission Mermaiden, if you get a bad status, it will actually change your gameplay.
>>11311068Some of them are unique playable classes in their own right(some even have a dedicated skill tree), others are temporary battle effects with unique effects, some are unique disabled states booting the character out of the active party and almost all of them have unique sprite for every character.
>>11311068They're a big part of the combat for the most part. Some classes like puppets and maids can be ordered around by other party members, some like collared let enemies order or capture your party members in combat, some are basically classes that come with appearance changes and unique skills like cheerleader. There's combos you can be exploited by like denial+forced masturbation or haigure that spreads around the party and you can make combos yourself by intentionally inflicting statuses on your party members like puppets or maids or bimbos or golems.
>you realistically are going to ignore until you sleep it off or use a panacea. No status effects are devastating. Easily cured outside of combat, though there's a mod that makes it harder in the overworld, but in combat it snowballs out of control quickly.
>>11310986>>11310990I could've liked Odyssey of Gianna if it halved the content and put that effort into the existing content instead. Every time a transformation happens I can't be sure whether it has any real content or if it's just an appearance swap. A game like that really needs to set a bar for minimum content that any and all effects can have.
Having an open world you can explore and find many different effects in is neat but it leaves the heart empty.
>>11307706Man, it's sad we didn't get a continuation of the original version. Ending in the succubus body was so blue balls.
>>11310788are there more games like this? Love my base building.
>>11311218See this is what I
>>11311068 am worried about. There's no way all of those status effects can have substantive content behind them. It just makes me want to play games that knuckle down on the fetishes they actually want to use and expands on them, making them feel like a fleshed out mechanic, as opposed to the 'CD that has 5000 games on it!' mentality of game design.
>>11311568The main fetish of the game is transformation, the fact it has so many of them is the boon and they actual have mechanical effects ontop of that rather than it just being cosmetic or a find and replace is what makes it so great.
>>11311237So is the new stuff good or not?
Does anyone have any recommendations for good games about seducing/romancing futas? Or just high-quality futa-centric games in general?
>>11307827Played it.
The gameplay is very basic, the game is short. What is there is good though, especially the animations / werewolf.
This kind of game respects the player's time a lot more than some of the open world games.
>>11311688futadomworld 0.3a
completely autistic question incoming for players and devs alike, does the engine a game uses influence whether you play it, and if so why do you like/hate a specific engine (or the style of game in general i.e. Twine/IF, rpgm/top-downs, etc.)
>>11312226As long as it isn't Western 3D.
>>11312226You know that "filtered" gamer meme response? Think of engines that way. The more things it runs on natively, the larger the audience you can potentially reach. From the player side, every additional piece of fiddling - be it a dedicated program like Inform 7 or setting your system to Japanese appllocale - will filter out a part of your audience who decide the content ins't worth the pain.
>>11312228A zip file of plain HTML files is pretty much the most portable format you can possibly have these days, runs on phones and mainframe text terminals especially if it can manage to not rely on JavaScript. If you want to muse about it, how widely accessible can you get?
>>11312232From the player side, the only thing more accessible is a website that plays that HTML so you don't have to store it locally, AND works on mobile for the filthy degens who goon on their phones.
From the dev side, though, you have to think about what % of your audience is where, and whether spending time on having the game accessible to them is worth your own. For example, a lot of people don't realize that capitalization in file names can fuck up HTML on Linux, because they've only ever used Windows which treats capital and lowercase file name letters identically. And unless you get someone who's playing your thing on Linux and understands the issue, you'll never know (as an indie dev your early release audience are your testers because you can't afford to pay anyone). Unity is great for cross-platform, or was, until the company's CEO ruined credibility. But it dropped Linux support even earlier, so either the dev or the player has to jump through some hoops to make it work. Renpy can do multiformat output, but again, it's more effort on the dev's side, and sometimes it's just not worth it. Especially when Steam has compatibility mode and itch runs things in browsers and you can just offload that burden onto the platform.
When engine discussions come up, the general consensus from devs is "focus on what you're trying to do, then pick an engine for it." Twine/HTML is designed for text-based CYOA; Renpy is for VNs; RPGM is for JRPGs. You can make whatever you want in any of the above, but making the thing it's designed to do will be easier out of the box. New devs will lack the experience to know what engine they want, though, which sometimes leads to digging in (like Trap Quest in Inform 7) or remaking the game in a different engine once you know enough.
>>11312248Yeah, I generally know what I want to make (text based CYOA) so I look into the web-based engines like Twine. I am already a very niche user as I run Linux myself.
I'm that guy from the /agdg/ thread about half a year ago who made an engine that renders the game out entirely to static HTML, and usually the bundle is small enough to toss onto neocities or similar, and to download locally.
This obviously has limitations in that the story is literally railroaded, but it does allow extremely complicated branching (to the point that I implemented a Turing Machine with 100 cells and it outputted a 100MB bundle of HTML with every state) so it may not exactly appear it doesn't use JS to track game state.
>>11312248>From the player side, the only thing more accessible is a website that plays that HTMLAnd there are players like me who absolutely don't want that. You just can never please everyone, it's a given.
I agree with choosing an engine that fits your genre though.
>>11312226As long as it runs without needing an installation guide and the game looks interesting and fun I'm willing to try it.
Thought about Demon Dome?
Same dev as Portals of Phereon.
>>11312226Here are some examples:
I don't like VNs much, so ren'py games I usually just skip.
I don't want to deal with weird engines like inform 7 so those games I also skip since long ago (it doesn't help I only ever played a single game worth remembering made in that engine)
As for twine, my cyoa needs are fullfilled by chatbots these days.
The rest depends on other things, like art etc.
>>11312320got concerns over the website knowing what you're doing in-game / requiring internet?
>>11312364It's mostly that I don't want to have yet another tab open. Mi browser eats over 30GB of RAM already.
Also, my internet is sometimes shaky.
Lilith's Throne recently got a bunch of updates on git. Looks like development's picking back up.
>>11312367>I don't want to have yet another tab open. Mi browser eats over 30GB of RAMProblem solved:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/unload-tabs/
Also, Firefox development is finally slowly catching up with power user trends. They've recently included a tab group feature in the release channel and nightlies are currently toying with manual tab unloading option, similar to the linked addon.
>>11312367if the game doesn't require JavaScript you can usually open it in a terminal web browser like Links, or in a very light graphical one like Dillo or NetSurf. Games like this are necessarily very constrained and probably text-only, but at least the memory usage would be much lower.
Also, I've yet to pay the image tax, so here's a pretty girl.
>>11312429tab unloading is something firefox does itself these days, and I hate it. Having to manually reload tabs (because apparently, the setting to auto reload tabs at startup fails to work if you have too many) is annoying.
>>11312337I liked Phereon but it's been a while since I followed it. What's this game like?
>>11312447Automatic tab unloading is only done to prevent crashing when your toaster is out of physical memory + swap
>>11312443I brought it up to illustrate just how many tabs I have open, I don't know and don't want to count them.
>>11312451When I open firefox I still have to click on each and every 4chan tab or I won't get new messages since the tab isn't loaded.
>>11312394Seems like the update is mostly bugfixes, a new frotting option, some changes to how randomly generated cursed equipment works, and a single new scene. Not very much still.
>>11312480I'm just glad shit is moving at this point
>>11312480>a new frotting option>a single new sceneHey, this is already more than I expected. Gotta keep your expectations realistic.
>>11312226I don't really care what engine is used. That said, certain engines lend themselves to certain games like
>>11312340 said. So if you got a particular genre you've got a higher hurdle to jump through to get me to play it than otherwise.

>>11313810NTA, but I wasn't a fan of the kidnapping mechanic either. Basically once you were down 1 character, unless it was the last fight in a dungeon and or you were overleveled you had to retreat. As a result the optimal strat was basically to never let your opponent have turns at all so the burst damage classes were much better than others. So rogue and noble were dogshit whilst alchemist and wizard were basically wiping out entire squads when built and supported properly.
>>11313855yeah, that was my opinion as well. Additionally, some of the DOTS were so ridiculous. I'm doing a 2nd level dungeon and there are groups with 2 crabs that do multiturn 14 damage DOTS? oh, and its a fort save? total bullshit, especially with the low quality early party members not really having a health pool and 0% fort save. basically need to know everything about the enemies before you go in a dungeon, which is unrealistic. And always take the exact right anti DOT items. its sad, because the rest of the game is so good with what I like.
>>11313856I remember posting back when it was developed that having some backup characters you could bring into dungeons would alleviate much of the snowballing that losing a characters would cause, but sadly that was never implemented.
but you're right, the game's too difficult for how punishing it is. So it doesn't encourage much experimentation once you find something that works. I just went with a 3 protect 1 strategy with an alchemist being able to do their nuke every turn whilst being buffed up.

>>11314677It's like the lands were dragged straight from the netherworld. Anyway the gameplay loop is as addictive as last time (though the interface is a tad clunky with having to right-click to select and left-click to move, the opposite of old time RTS games), so I guess I'll be pouring in money again.
>>11314710 took me a small while to find the tutorial. giant green hanging scroll at top of screen could do with a bit of animation I think... at least the first time someone needs to find it.
A bit surprised double clicking doesn't auto move a girl to a production slot. click and drag isn't bad thou.
Bug? When I cleared a dungon, and then clicked somewhere else, and then clicked the dungon again, it rerolled the clear rewards. I could keep doing this to reroll 'good' rewards, if I knew what good rewards were, which at this point i dont XD.
Bug? sometimes I have to manually set new people to housing. i don't know why, it seems random.
So far, lots of fun, darkest dungon combined with factorio... those are indeed icons i see.
One big turn off: The disclaimer at the start is a bit much, not everyone wants to hear about your dev's team gender identity.
>>11314578Well that's just lovely: I enter my first dungeons and my characters won't move an inch. I can click and tell them where to go (arrows appear), but they just moonwalk in place. I can only assume it's because I went in with the time paused. Unfortunately there's no way to unpause inside the dungeon. Thankfully retreating is free, but still.

>>11314844The game normally checks for housing whenever you add/remove a housing building or girl. I should probably also make it check when you open a Housing building, so it can pretend to work correctly. Or just wait until I encounter it in the wild I guess
>>11314846>Guess I have a tendency of doing stuff most don't.Probably rather a tendency to report stuff most don't. Most non-game-breaking bug reports come from only a few players. I beat the succubus loli in the naked rape town in Fumika Fantasy. What do I do next in-game?
I'm working on a TF game where there are at least five tf routes. theyre all fairly grounded (bimbofication, gyarufication, gothification, minor body mods like boob size, nothing insane) so i split the tfs into hair and body, so that you can mix and match and see tf scenes from two different routes every run. I've got a ton of scenes written, a solid 90% of the character art done now, just focusing on gameplay.
Here's my current idea. there's some kind of gameplay thing you do, be it life sim stuff or whatever i havent decided yet, to simulate trying not to give into the urge to sink more into your chosen tf routes. the game takes a set number of days, and the ending is based on what routes you ended up with, and how far down them you went. by making the design pretty "medium" in difficulty, i figure players can push themselves in the direction they want to see (fully tf'd, slightly altered, totally unchanged) without just choosing it outright like a dress-up game or having to grind for it like a lot of japanese rpgmaker type games.
So two questions:
1) Does this sound fun/hot?
2) If you think it's a good idea at all for gameplay, what kind of gameplay do you think would suit the theme of trying to stave off corruption?
>>11315277>different endings not just based on TFs but how far you getit's bad enough having endings for each combination but you should be careful about the absurd added complexity of trying to consider every path having an incomplete path ending
in any case, the most standard thing is
>fights are by default quite hard but if you use powers that push you further down the corruption path the fights are easyI hate to mention Undertale but it has a pretty good way of doing this
>There is a very obvious way to win>Doing the obvious way to win results in the 'bad' outcome (in this case, corruption)>Trying to get the 'good' result requires you to effectively solve a puzzletherefore players who only care about the content won't have troubles playing the game but people who are more hardcore and want to do a no-corruption run are the ones who engage in the puzzle mechanics.
Limited by the confines of a JRPG, these puzzle mechanics can be things like:
>Using an option repeatedly even though it gives only a very slightly different result each time>Running repeatedly instead of fighting>Going for less effective attacks that progress something instead of reducing healthThe biggest problem with this is that you have to connect every transformation with "I choose violence over pacifism" which might not make sense (how does attacking people make your boobs grow?)
>>11315277>1) Does this sound fun/hot?>2) If you think it's a good idea at all for gameplay, what kind of gameplay do you think would suit the theme of trying to stave off corruption? Are you the bimboanon? Here's my ideaguy proposal for the gameplay:
Instead of a few days, make the game take place over a few weeks, but with timeskips so the total length is the same. It's a lifesim where you'd play every Monday morning and Friday evening and plan out what she does for the rest of the week/weekend which is then skipped through, unless there's some special event that triggers that you can play (incident at work event, first time at the salon event, etc). You pick things like how she'll dress for the week, how much effort she'll put in at work, what she does for fun on the weekend, etc.
IMO this gives much better pacing than only a couple of days and gives you the opportunity to do more interesting things with e.g. the workplace, since instead of only a single workweek you'd get to play 4 or 5 or however long you're envisioning the game being.
During the workweek you'd accumulate stress, and during the weekend you need to let off that stress somehow. Of course, giving into your chosen TF route gives you way more stress reduction, for the bimbo route this would be things like going to the salon, choosing to dress sluttier, or at higher levels getting a boobjob and a butt lift. Maybe you could have a sugar daddy character offering to pay for these things too, so that the corrupting stress-relief options are cheaper than the safe ones.
Of course, showing up to work looking like a bimbo might lead to even more stress when your boss complains you don't look "professional" enough, so you might get trapped in a vicious cycle, or maybe even have to consider a change in careers to something more fitting for the new you..
>>11315312yes, thats me, though im trying to be somewhat low profile so people dont get sick of me before my games even out. I've been playing a couple old dating sims recently so the life sim angle does vibe with me right now, a "stress meter" and a day planner on a week scale are good ideas for sure, even if it takes hours to play, a girl going from 0 to 100 in an in-game day is less hot than over time, in my opinion, so i agree thats a good timescale. The one issue is balance. If the "goal" is to keep the MC's stress dow, and doing so is indeed possible, then it would probably be very easy to do so once you know the right things to do. Usuaully these games have some kind of other thing youre balancing, like making enough money for rent or buying upgrades or whatever, and while i could totally do that, i dont want to fall into the trap some h-games do where the gameplay actually filters players from the tf and lewd scenes they're there for.
>>11315295Dont worry, I've done a few non-lewd VNs and such before, im keeping it doable. At least at launch, there will probably be one "totally unchanged" ending, one "slightly changed" ending that just calls on flags to make a mention of some changed characteristic, and then a one full TF ending for each TF, which is determined by a final endgame choice of which ending you want to do if you have a different body and hairstyle. with five routes thats seven endings, which isnt insane as long as i just dont make them absurdly long. This lets players play multiple times while sticking to themes they like but seeing tons of new content per run.
For example:
Guy A only likes gyarus and bimbos, hates all other TFs. Run 1 he does gyaru hair, bimbo body, and picks the gyaru ending, run 2 he does bimbo hair and gyaru body and does the bimbo ending. It's not DRAMATICALLY different from him doing full bimbo route 1 and full gyaru route 2 but it gives the player more agency, and some of the tfs are really cute mixed together.
>>11315344Here's some more teaser art I've been working on. Our main girl has thick eyebrows now because I think it's more moe. The one on the far right is an example of a mix and match I thought was cute, this is what you'd look like 2/3rds of the way through the ganguro body route but 3/3 through the cowgirl hair route. The really dark skinned one's hair is unfinished, I actually draw the hairstyles fullsize on an HD drawing I did of the base body, then compress them and make them look good as pixelart manually, this one's just been compressed, havent touched it up yet.
>>11315344> The one issue is balance. If I remember correctly you mentioned that the original inciting incident for the MC is that she gets into some kind of sci-fi work accident that will slowly bimbofy her (or whatever other TF) over time? You could make it so that there's a cure available but it costs say 10,000 dollars, the goal of the game is to make that 10K before you run out of time. You could make money by working at the job obviously, with putting in more effort each week giving more money but also more stress. You could also have a different side job option you can do on the weekends for each route - bimbo does escorting, cowgirl sells milk, goth does some kind of femdom thing, etc which would make money stress-free but also progress the TF more.
>>11315346I like thick eyebrows too though I think them being so dotlike its a little weird, I'm not an artist but maybe consider extending them a bit more to the side?
Is the 2nd portrait the cowgirl route? I don't mind the extreme breast size, it makes sense for a cow, though I think it looks a little bit out of place on the body. I can see she does have a slightly different lower body to the other girls but I think you should go a bit futher with wider hips and a chubbier belly to make it look more natural. I understand that's probably more work to make it fit well with clothes or whatever but, does a cow really need clothes anyways?
>>11315385Also, if you've ever heard of it "Newlife" is a good example of the kind of lifesim gameplay I'm envisioning, it also takes place on a week scale where every week you decide what you're doing for work, what you do after work, what you do on the weekend, and what you do on the weekend evening. I'm surprised other developers haven't taken inspiration from it more. I find the game a little dry in terms of /d/ content so I don't play it often but being able to quickly progress week by week just feels so much better than other lifesims where doing daily stuff often feels like a chore.
>>11315387>"Newlife" is a good example of the kind of lifesim gameplay I'm envisioningNice, hopefully you won't be as slow as SO, game has barely evolved in 10 years.
>>11315387What I like the most is the way npc can be customized, and their traits can have effect with your MC's . The sex mechanic is also fine. I agree with the lack of /d/ content. But being able to customize race and some base physical characteristics is just enough to make npc uniques without needing to add too many descriptors.

Does anyone remember this abandoned /d/ game: it was from several years ago, dev was called 'poorfag-chan dev' or something similar. >>11315266Depends on what you want to do, that place is optional for beating the game anyway, and I dont remember the difficulty order since I played it years ago
Strict requirements for beating the game are going to Kings Castle, beating the Trial Tower to get access to the Castle, you the get a Ship, go to the snowy island to the north-east and beat the golem at the town entrance, then go through the ice cave and collect the treasure after the boss
Then go to the western town and leave, the ship should now be to the west of the town, travel to the north-west corner with the floating island, use one of the Stones from ice cave to activate teleporter, go through the Floating City and get Wind Stone, give it to Magic Engineer in Kings Palace and get Airship, return home, then you will be able to enter Demon Kings Palace
>>11315867really wish someone made something similar to sculptor
its actually crazy the lack of feminization games where the protagonist is dominant and sculptor basically had everything i could ever want
not cringe-worthy writing, decent art, routes that ranged from dom to romantic, being able to customize the genders of both the protag and the bully so it could be gay, straight or yuri. i especially liked that it focused on just one character instead of having 20 people with two scenes each
>>11307575Whats crazy is this is diffusion
>>11316361definitely has a lot of manual redrawing though
most of the times when you get ai gens this good the creator usually already knows how to draw somewhat and just uses AI to speed up their workflow
>>11312367Okay Iโll bite, how many tabs do you have open at a time? o.O
>>11316573Like I said, I don't know and it's too many to count. I'm trying to reduce them, but not with much success.
>>11316366You can tell their raw artistic skill by looking at those tails and dear god, don't look at the knees.
The eyes' irises are likely hand drawnand the picture is otherwise likely cobbled together from different generations with copy-pasted halos.
The dicks don't even cast shadows. I'm not sure I'd call the creator an 'artist' but they likely put effort into it.
There are all sorts of weird inconsistencies that the AI makes but rather than going into that, I think it's safe to say that this works well for pin-up style images where the characters don't interact with each other directly. By itself it's hot but when you try to put it in a game context, continuity and consistency trump out art quality. If quality is all that mattered in a game's art then you could just copy-paste stock images or images off of a google search but instead, games work best when an art director is keeping everything together. It makes commissioning artists even harder because all the artists who can draw hot women have their own styles that'll clash if you aren't careful.
So /dgg/ I've got a quandary for you, especially since we seem to be on the topic. Years ago I made a text only game and never really did much with it beyond posting about it here when I was working on it and when it was finished. The final version was officially "released" in 2017 after I ported it from its original engine over to Twine. I recently started playing around with Stable Diffusion and posting some stuff in the AI slop threads here on /d/ and it has me thinking about putting together an image pack for the game and re-releasing it.
I know AI slop is just that - slop. But it'd be nice to have to pictures to go along with the scenes and scenarios. Should I bother going through the process of generating and releasing the image-version or would the taint of AI images just fuck it all up and I'd be better off leaving it alone?
>>11317027Well, you can use AI generated images as precursor to your drawing skills (if you can draw that is!), you just fix the faces and make it "not too AI" so it won't easily perceived as Slop. Use AI to assist and remake the Art!
>>11317036See, the reason I'm considering the AI route is that I absolutely cannot draw. At best I could potentially do very rudimentary figure forms to setup the character outlines and blocking of a scene for the AI to inpaint. Even that might be a bit of a stretch for my drawing abilities though
>>11317041That i can't help with... How about you set out plans for multiple versions of your game? Maybe first version have AI art, and if you learn to draw - you can remake the old art with your new hardships!
>>11317052That's similar to a thought I had of just putting it out with an optional image pack that wasn't part of the base game, kinda like how Free Cities introduced images way back in the day.
>>11317027Make it a seperate optional version/download and then people can choose. As long as the original is available you can't ruin shit. Just don't be blizzard.
>>11315794Nevermind, I found a walkthrough on ULMF.
>>11317081Have you considered monetising? Just putting it up on a website for a few bux, or releasing it for free and getting a patreon? Just say you're on v0.1 or whatever, see if you can get enough money to attract an artist, or just pay one?
how much visual work are you talking about?
>>11317188Oh, I wouldn't ever make it mandatory or the only version available. Hell, I even kept the old ass version I originally built in Adrift in the download if anyone wanted to try and play "guess the phrase" to get through things like they were still in the 90s.
>>11317636I've thought about it, but functionally the game is complete. And while I could add new areas and scenes, it's got a fair amount of content already and I don't the game to overstay its welcome. The goal was for someone to get through their initial playthrough in maybe 30-60min depending on their reading speed.
As for visual work, there's 11 scenes that have an average of 1-3 variations for the MC and I'd like maybe 1-2 images for each scene/variation. There's also 5 endings and their respective variations. Additionally, each event takes place in a unique area that would need backgrounds plus some additional miscellaneous images for one-off scenes/images for the intro, title menu, items & equipment, MS status, etc. It's a fair amount of image work, I think hiring an artist for that much would be prohibitively expensive.
>>11317723Depends. Find an artist that shares your vision, they might do it for cheaper, or instead of paying them ask them for a share of the profit. If the game is entirely done, it seems like money for old rope for an artist.
For what it's worth, using AI is slowly but surely getting normalized, looking at stuff like itch.io.
>>11317027is this image part of what your game would be? Because if so, do it however you can and re-release it. You've got at least one player!
Any good games about chastity/orgasm denial where you inflict this on other people?
>>11312337Entertaining enough for one playthrough. Seems like there's a lot of complexity which doesn't directly feed into anything interesting, though those mechanics may become required at higher difficulties?
For example: The alchemy mechanic itself seems interesting, but I couldn't find any good speciality ingredients, and the enhanced armor barely had any effect on the combat.
Then there's the date sex and favor systems, which also seemed useless.
The build-your-own-cards combat system was great. Hope the developer skews more towards the combat system than the adventure game parts.
>>11317785I'll have to check out Itch then. I know it's a little dicey with copyright and whatnot but I think it's still in enough of a gray area to not have to worry too much. There's also a small part of me that feels a bit guilty for essentially stealing art, but that's not too much of a far cry from creating characters and poses in something like Honey Select and editing/filtering the pics which was my other thought for getting artwork.
>>11317859Yes, that was an image I was working on for one of the main antagonists. She's the main henchman that the MC runs into a few different times throughout the game.

>>11318151I haven't played it for a while, but the last time that I played, I ran into a bug where if all of the mad science projects in the chemistry lab were done, using it would result in a divide by zero error.
>>11318151It worked fine last time I played (a few months ago).
>>11317027Honestly I detest AI slop for art, but when it comes to gooning I kind of stop caring.
The issue is AI slop is mostly slop so if your game has the same AI goblins I see everywhere I'm not gonna give it a second look. Starmaker Story at least puts in a bit of effort into their AI slop.
>>11318134Correct. It's pretty much Super Deepthroat with a very run of the mill VN to connect the scenes to. There's also a built-in character editor so you can pretty much ignore the story stuff if you want, though to be honest, you can pretty much ignore the story stuff anyway because it's literally the same exact anime tropes you've seen a million times already.
>>11318201That's fair, and in all seriousness, Starmaker was one of the games where I realized "oh shit, you can actually do some decent stuff with AI gens now." The pic in the reply you quoted is around the level where I want to slop to be, though even that one needs a bit more work (eyes and piercings need touching up specifically). My biggest concern will be carrying a consistent style but that's just something I'd have to figure out along the way
>>11317571I just finished it, and the game sucked overall.

Dev of that one pregnancy strategy game here. I made a lot of mechanical changes from the responses I got a couple weeks ago or so in addition to some other playtesting. Not much new writing but there is a little.

>>11318637you got a changelog?
>>11314578after the anon posting about it earlier in this trhead, I tried 0.2 and 0.3
Genrally, I like the change with mines and that the buildings need road access now.
What I didn't like, and sorry since I know you put quite some effort into it, is the new tutorial.
There are still things I haven't really dived into, like equipment and breeding.
But I want to get some suggestions out now already:
I honestly suggest ditching the first island and just have Borkum as the tutorial island.
The tutorial island is just too damn small with no room to build things. Without my experience from 0.2 I might have dropped the game there.
Other things that would be nice to have:
An overview about all the outposts and the areas they secure
Cowgirls. I'd love to milk them.
>>11314578Minor issue, retreating from a battle while all the spaces in front of the port on the second island are occupied (the connecting road was to the left of it) spawned me on top of one of the buildings. Deleting the building I was on unstuck me.
Also I decided to settle the small island on Flevo when given the option. The Marches I think it was called. I progressed to the point where I can build ports and figured that's how you're meant to hop to the main landmass from there but I don't seem to be able to build a port anywhere on the main island. Am I missing something obvious?
>>11318652No, I have a fucked up disorganized todo list. Main things I changed were making the tiny sex/birth random events more obvious and giving them a tiny bit of rewriting, removing a bunch of extraneous bullshit like having a separate type of forest you had to develop before you could build anything, cut away at 90% of what was giving people resource issues and replaced it with a secret thing that's more fun(this actually took a large, but very proportionate, amount of my time).
There's also art added for two of the sex scenes and a drawing for a not sex scene.
>>11307755- "follow X" routine for Wulf
If you're ITT, could you let me know if the "support" command lets you execute what you want with a follow command? I'd rather not have too big a list, and after I tightened up their decisionmaking I think you should mostly be able to favor/get affection with specific characters with that command.
>- tutorial on failstate and failstate recovery (I did not expect my watermills to straight up disintegrate)After multiple run-ins with the watermill blowing up problem from players I just took the nuclear option. So it'll be extremely obvious if/why mills get destroyed now.
give me game idea that doesn't need art.
>>11318961You can only build ports at the dedicated port locations (those are the possible start locations), but as usual you need to pacify the land, which probably is not possible if you can't leave your little island.
>>11319093Text adventure, escape room, rogue-like, CoC clone

>>11319068>cut away at 90% of what was giving people resource issuesInteresting, since I quite immediatly ran into resource issues again. Though this time it was food, not tools. Never had a problem with meat in the older versions, but now it ran out. Grains were even worse, despite me trying hard to increase production (which might have contributed to meat becoming a problem).
I start to wonder if I just play your game wrong.
The tutorial seems kinda broken, it goes directly to the point where you already have the fort and can control all characters. If I hadn't played the previous version I would have been totally lost.

Traditional roguelikes? There's a bunch and it can be pretty good though it comes at the cost of content since making gameplay comes at the cost of content. MaiDenSnow Eve might be one of the first hentai roguelikes I played.
Dungeon Depths had potential too. See, these games often get stuck in the middle of development due to the complexity.

I quite appreciate the bug reporting, you added something very important to my todo.
>>11319408>No, I just focused on building fields and then some camps when I noticed meat was getting low.I'm slightly tuning up the values now, but you can space out your camps and claim much more tiles to grow food in the current version since they don't need to be connected to anything anymore. They're basically baby villages now to try and bridge the gap between when you're only able to reproduce a "normal" amount and when you start having proper population growth happening. I'm hoping that's mostly enough that I can focus on developing through the story a little further since I want the player to really feel some palpable relief at some story unlocks helping them to drive the population further than they'd been able to.

>but you can space out your camps and claim much more tiles to grow food in the current version since they don't need to be connected to anything anymore. Now that's an important and good change, but I wasn't aware of it.
For a TF-focused game, would you rather:
A) Have TFs be long and detailed, maybe be the primary gameplay, at the expense of doing other things (so more like a route based VN with gameplay)
B) Have TFs be a shallower modifier you can more easily enable and disable for the purpose of modifying a wide variety of scenes (so more like a sandbox)
>>11319861>so more like a route based VN with gameplaynope
>more like a sandboxyes, but
> shallower modifier you can more easily enable and disable for the purpose of modifying a wide variety of scenesnope, shallow is bad for a focused game.
>>11319863sure but sandbox AND deep means mucho expensivo
>>11319912Making a good game is hard, I know

>>11319861Probably the first one.
I know people will say that they love gameplay but when I've played as many games as I have, I know that gameplay just means some very shallow and generic content if the dev isn't really good / doesn't have a lot of manpower. The kind of shit where you get a TF near the start and it has a scene and then it's completely ignored for the rest of the game.

Games with massive, veiny, curved d-tier cocks?
>>11319263Thanks for the insight. And I'm largely on the same page, I typically don't bother with most games that have AI art because 95% of the time it's lazy garbo. And I understand what you mean in regards to trying to get away from established, common art styles but it seems like the more impressive pieces I see are more often about the composition and content of the image rather than the style itself.
As for style mining, I would like to develop something consistent and would definitely check out a guide if one were available. I've gone through a few that were linked in the ddg threads along with the replies in the archived thread from a maybe 2-3 threads back which has been super helpful. I'm finding the information in those guides/recommendations is inconsistent though, very much "your mileage may vary" type of things.
>>11319861The former.
Trials in Tainted Space was crowdfunded 12 years ago and still has characters on every planet with scenes that either forget about tauric lower bodies or are strictly disabled with no substitute
I wish I wasn't so lazy and didn't drop projects as soon as I started them. Maybe I would actually know how to draw by now and be well on my way to making the next great /d/ game.
>>11321352just learn to prompt and make AI slop like everybody else

>>11315385fattening up the cow as we speak. Here's my status report.
Routes I have content made for (with planned "tags"):
-western-style bubbly bimbo
-japanese style kuro gyaru
-goth
-cow
-tomboy
-ojousama
As always, taking suggestions. Likely only the top three or four will be in the first build. japanese yankee probably getting added at some point but i havent done any work on it.
Any suggestions for the goth route's body changes? Havent been able to think of much inspiring, piercings sure, but that only covers one of the three planned "stages" of each TF. same with ojousama, theyre both mostly defined by hair, attitude, and clothes, not physical form.
>>11321388Could go the "Goth mommy" route and make her taller. If that's possible given sprite size limitations anyway.
>>11321388Stage one goth with some slightly paler skin, taller, bigger breasts
Stage 2 with piercings, even larger breasts, black lipstick
Stage 3 with super pale skin, black lipstick, tattoos and big boobs
>>11321526at the moment, theres a body sprite and a hair sprite, the hair sprites are all made for the same body, but different parts of the body are different layers, which is why stuff like bigger boobs are easy. taller is harder, but probably technically doable. makeup is definitely doable, so
>>11321563 is almost all pretty easy, hadnt thought of paler skin but that'll be easy, already doing darker skin for the kuro gyaru.
>>11321563So on the subject of breast expansion, currently its planned for the Bimbo (up to like, DDs), the kuro (up to Cs), and the cow (up to gigahuge udders). I've been debating including them in other routes because I do want a size for every preference, and I dont want all the TFs to be made predictable by having too much in common. Both you and the guy above you, by virtue of the image posted, seem to associate big booba with goths though, so maybe that should be added to the list...

>>11319836I am now fully schizophrenic, I couldn't reproduce the crash on load at all. I did find and fix a potential crash that could have possibly been the culprit, but I also just put in a bunch more logging statements so if that wasn't what was messing up for you, at least the logs might be more helpful. Big thanks for alerting me to it considering I ended up fixing something profoundly retarded anyways.
>>11322610A little more art.
The main content is going to be femboys getting dommed by monster girls. Might be a bit niche, but if i'm making my own game i might as well be indulgent about it.

>>11322811I tried the fixed version (for stuff like the tutorial) and there I could load an earlier save. I really dunno why it crashed.
Since we're on the topic, Meat it no longer a problem (if you kow you can space out camps now), tools are fine, and the thing going lowest is grains, but that's ok, I guess you're supposed to focus on that anyway and you can boost production with mills.
Also, finally found ore, but it seems bloomeries don't boost production.
And we're in a valley surrounded by mountains? But I guess that's intentional.
Overall, this gameflow works.
Things I haven't figured out yet:
My built villages don't grow and stay at 10 population, the starting town only grows once from 50 to 60.
Equipment and stats - what are the stats even good for? And which equipment to best give whom?
stage 2 goth tf face so far. stage 1 is simpler makeup.
for stage 3 we're doing some piercings and colored contacts, brown eyes arent goth enough for stage 3. what color eyes are we thinking? yellow? red? grey? taking suggestions.
>>113229614chan dropped the image somehow, 100% sure I had it attached
>>11322961I think purple is best, very mystical. Red is okay but maybe a bit too aggressive and I don't really find yellow or gold to be goth at all.
>>11322961purple seems like a de facto color for goth designs
dark red could be nice
>>11323211>>11323203the people have spoken, purple it is. Here's the screentest I did for red though, with an early wip for one of the route's hairstyles. It is pretty aggressive, yeah, I may have channeled too much Nana.
For anyone that plays Free Cities, how the fuck do you get the implant filters to work? They added a feature that apparently lets you move fillers from the cervical/rectal filters into breast/butt implants, but it never works and if anything just makes the filters nonfuctional entirely. Am I retarded or what.
>>11323643dunno, I run Body Purism :^)
>>11323654I normally do as well to be fair, but I wanted it to work for a few of the slaves that I have in the brothel that I got from the royal court event, sort of like a "the more they get fucked the bigger their assets get" type of vibe
>>11322885>femboys getting dommed by monster girls>Might be a bit nicheMy brother in christ, that's the vast majority of the monster girl genre.
That said, follow your dreams. Hope you got some interesting hook to set it apart from the crowd.
>>11323687Yeah that is extremely the norm. If you want to make it stand out, make it so winning allows you to dom the girls (or at least top) and losing is getting dommed. Give some content for playing the game properly rather than being yet another example of the moronic standard of required losing.
>>11323687I was in the /mgg/ thread before, so i guess i'm just more used to thier standards. I plan on having more focus on the guys them most monster girl games.
But yeah, not sure why i phrased it like that.
>>11323768Avoiding the "game over rape" is the main thing I had in mind when thinking of gameplay mechanics.
What i have planned right now is inspired by papers please and similar games mixed with a shop sim. You give heroes specific items depending on what equiment or status they have, and then set them up to lose by chosing what monster they fight.
That's the basics anyway. Once i actually get some of it working i can explain more details.
>>11323791I meant /mggg/, my bad.
Also i should have said thanks for the encouragement. Not sure why i decided to post just after waking up.
Writing for a text based game and hit writer's block, give me some suggestions /dgg/. Currently the knight PC (disguised as a demon) finds their squire but in order to purify them after being corrupted they must gather a few ingredients including going to a tavern to buy grain spirits and then to a church to find incense.
Should or could be a bad end at either venue but I'm struggling to settle on something. The player goes to the church and it's run by demons or cultists who do.. something. Can't quite figure out what yet. Test the PC by making them suck a demon dong? There's incense burning that's making them horny and if they take too long to find it they go breed crazy? Witness a ritual and are made to join in on it? Any kinda kinks are welcome.
>>11324052>Currently the knight PC (disguised as a demon)>The player goes to the church
>>11322937>Also, finally found ore, but it seems bloomeries don't boost production.I'll look at that, thank you!
>And we're in a valley surrounded by mountains? But I guess that's intentional.>My built villages don't grow and stay at 10 population, the starting town only grows once from 50 to 60.These are both artifacts of the story being so early while I was fixing the basic gameplay. There's a couple of things you'll progress into by the next version that help you get past the mountains and help your pops actually be able to reproduce. If you want, in the current version you can build roads through the mountains at great expense, and increasing your "unassigned" adult population above 30 will make them think about moving to any existing villages with vacancies. Since these are both intentionally not ideal solutions, If I take too long getting the story out I'll go back and adjust numbers, but I don't think it'll come to that.
>Equipment and stats - what are the stats even good for? And which equipment to best give whom?Equipment is undertaught right now because the tutorial is way too long imo. At some point in the early story you'll get a drop that gives you a nice item and it'll come with a lecture. For now, I just focused on writing tooltips for all the stats, and equipment should hopefully allow a sliding scale of engagement depending on how fun the player finds character development.
The primary level is picking good keywords, which have big, discrete effects like "sex during pregnancy makes pregnancy advance faster", the game shouldn't require engaging with more than this as long as you're also vaguely making number go up.
The secondary level is focusing on the two stats each character specifically boosts, and the two pregnancy related stats.
The tertiary level is looking at how the stats impact the derived values on the details section, and maybe making some decisions that are more complicated if you're like me and find that kind of thing fun.
Does Naedoko Demon's Ground have lewd interactions with your companions?
>>11324101Ah, I didn't try crossing the mountains since I just assumed there would be nothing behind them. Also, it's gotten to the point where Frauke barely gets anything done on the construction sites near the mountains due to the long travel times to them, I guess she's already a bit exhausted when she arrives.
If you can actually cross the mountains this might become a problem
>try out new stuff
>nothing ever comes close to Karryn's Prison
sad
>>11324052>knight PC (disguised as a demon) finds their squire but in order to purify them after being corruptedDoes the PC have to act to match their disguise while trying to purify the squire? Are these demons who corrupt via rape? Does PC have to choose how hard to rape the squire (to keep up appearances) while gathering ingredients, to avoid suspicion? Too little rape and you get caught by the demons / have to start over while the squire gets "corrected" with more corruption? Does the amount of squire rape / corruption create variance in what the purification ritual does to the squire? Does demonic corruption of squire progress to the point of MTF, and does reversing it determine the appearance of / relationship between characters going forward - on a sliding scale from "platonic bros" to "femboy who lusts for the knight's dick" to "let's get married I want to keep birthing your babies forever"?
>>11324052First thought is just the standard trope inversion of "church secretly evil", so evil church secretly good. Something like they only support demonic invasion through tending to the wounded or displaced, and it all stems from their belief that corruption is the convergence of humanity and demons, any forced sex slavery arrangement is temporary, and a fully corrupted humanity will live as equals in demonic paradise. Exact theology is probably not that important to the player and protagonist compared to what NPCs they're interacting with. Maybe have the ringleader or a cute nun succubus or incubus (dealer's choice) immediately suss out the PC and instead of raising the alarm offer the macguffin in exchange for taking temporary vows or otherwise providing community service.
From there, the world's your oyster. Sermons that devolve into praise kink/body worship with the protagonist trying to figure out how much is just honeyed words and how much is a cloistered virgin seeing an unclaimed human up close for the first time. Regular soup kitchen work to cast doubt on PC's worldview. Sex soup kitchen work about having to chug demon cum left in the used bowl as a thank you. Vignettes about having to handwash weird demon underwear or outerwear. Nonsexually massaging sore sex demons who've been fucking all day. Sucking a demon dong because that's demon charity idk.
Does anyone have an exhaustive list of games where the MC gets raped/has a lost state of getting fucked?
No real preferences, any works.
I decied to totally redraw the MC's body for the final stage of routes where just tacking on parts to the default body loses steam in my opinion. It's a lot of work but I'm getting way better at the pixelart after like a month and a half in the art mines. I'm super duper happy how the tomboy (stage 3) body's looking, I'm generally not turned on by my own art, but I may be clearing that crest, which would be super great for me in case i lose internet in the future or something.

>>11324061Should probably of prefaced it with the fact the player is on the fringes of civilisation and into lands overrun by demons, beastmen and all your typical fantasy races.. It's also /a/ church and not /the/ church; a smouldering ruin being used for profane rituals in a "no gods or kings" type of land. Also probably should have mentioned it's a female PC with a male squire, whoops.
>>11324152Corruption is your typical smut game affair, sex, magic, pernicious artifacts or demonic curses. I've already written one bad ending of the demon corrupting the squire fucking them as they fuck you before growing into a mighty demon themselves as their power grows with every womb they breed.. But I like the idea of the reversal with the corruption giving the player an illusion of choice - unable to resist the squire's horny advances as they prepare the ritual until the player surrenders their pucelage and begin fucking like rabbits. The way I've written this divergence at the moment kinda' limits what can happen to the squire and though I didn't plan on him being a recurring character you've given me some interesting ideas.. Thanks!
>>11324241I like this idea too but I think it deserves a bit more setup than this particular divergence can give it. I have plans for an update later on that involves the PC ingratiating themselves into a pleasure cult to find the macguffin and love the idea of a slow burn like that; a methodical introduction with the succubus as your "handler" not openly trying to corrupt the player - but coercing them into a service that slowly does; giving them the choice to accomplish their mission faster by attending the cult's "service" (see; demon dong) or by learning the layout over time to sneak about at their leisure. Though the concept at large is a good one; an oddly harmonious sect of demonic influence looking to create their own utopia on earth. Definitely going into my story notes, so thank you too!

It's imageset guy here again.
I like to cut apart sequential imagesets (as in, the variant imagesets that don't already have every combination) and make my own custom combinations.
