Silver Spoon repair
I turned on my garbage disposal with this silver spoon in it. Is it possible to hit this with a torch and smooth it back out?

its kinda fucked mate. you could buff and sand it down possibly.

reshaping it with a peening hammer would probably be more effective. I guess you could grind and polish if you don't care about losing material.

If you get the ridges hot enough to melt the nearby metal will be hot enough to melt too and your spoon will melt.

I said that because well that sucks, add it to the scrap portion of the stack.

Why not melt the whole thing down and reforge it into a new spoon?

Waste of time. It's dead Jim. Melt it down, sell the silver, buy a new one on ebay.
