build additional XL long 2 car garage off existing one car-door garage. To make it simple, make existing interface fit under existing garage end wall roof line, with same pitch.

And IMO that could look good or at least "like they meant to do that".

Old one door garage becomes extra random sq ft transition from garage to house, because you can never have enough garage space.

OK idea or not? Real prob is Zillow Lot Lines are really lame and looks like existing garage is very close and would be almost unworkable to extend.

God, I can't wait till AI takes over the RE agent biz.

If you list a house, and CHECK THE LISTING YOURSELF and see Lot Lines are all fucked up, how about include a DIY map of correct LLs.

I've yet to see a listing I wouldn't grade as higher than D+.

how about adding a 2 or more car garage to either of these ends as shown. Match roof on one side and extend up on the other.

The addon on the right should just clear the existing lean-to so its left bay would become more storage than car-parking, but maybe make the new garage YUGE enough it spans wide enough so a garage door on its ass end would allow drive through parking into the lean-to's left bay.

Just build a detached garage. It won't fuck up the existing home and you won't be restricted by things someone did decades ago when they built the place. You also never know what you find when you start peeling the layers off a home. The old saying is for renovations is "If you come in 30% over budget you're doing pretty good." Also a good way to put in a mother-in-law unit. Put in a three car with a shop on the back and an apartment on top.

I hear you, Trump/Biden covid spending 2-3x increased the cost of houses in just 2yrs. Totally unprecedented in US or even world history, and there was no war, or even bad flu season. 2018 was the bad flu year IMO due to overheated Trump economy with everyone missing slept, eating garbage and in overheated crowded offices.

Prob with detached with apt is it might knock the RE out of contention for FHA etc Govt loans because they got something against "two homes" on a single lot, like they think MIL unit is same as Apt Complex or some shit.

I'm thinking you're $10k for a lot and each one of the trades to rough in something better. diy what you can like painting, siding, some framing, anything you can manage that will improve the build or costs.

Needs to have hold-open gadgets that hold the doors 180deg, and the pattern of door and structure windows need to be so that "works" visually. Because doors would be wide open most of the time.

I'd make it full greenhouse roof and tall doors to wheel in big potted drawf citrus during winter.

Lot lines aren't going to be accurate on Zillow. They get open gis data from local mapping departments which is based on filings with the local register of deeds. That data can be from current surveys with gps coordinates or a couple guys with a gunters chain doing their best to measure from Clyde's rock to the big tree to the north. Then it's all got to fit together.

You want to know if you have room to expand, pay for a survey before purchasing.
