>buying and installing flooring for the first time in my life
>want to put in specialty floor from a specific manufacturer that seems to only have one consumer distributor in my country
>contact distributor for a quote and the assigned salseman is redflaggy off the bat but decide to just roll with it since im pretty laid back and time isnt a concern
>want to do 3 or 4 color tiles in a pattern that is predominantly dark blue
>ask for 7 color swatches
>salesman doesnt confirm just sends 2 shipments with 5 duplicate swatches (no dark blue) then sends a weird email asking if i got them because he doesnt have a tracking number
> tell him about the duplicates and about the missing dark blue, also tell him i would like to see a few more colors because the ones i saw werent working as i had hoped
>crickets
>2 week later receive an email asking if im still interesed in the tiles
>reply with a reiteration of the previous email and a list of 8 more colors i want to see
>he replies back with "ill resend the blue but the maximum is 7 you cant have anymore
wtf
is this a normal interaction i
for this industry or did i just get a dud?
thanks for reading my blog

sounds like he couldn't give a flying fuck about your business

Get the shit samples and if you don't like them tell him off how much of a shitty interaction you had with him

Nothing of what you posted is part of a typical interaction with a reputable material supplier. The person you're dealinh with either doesn't understand English very well, has no idea what they're doing, or simply doesn't give a shit.

Just go to the manufacturer, clue them in on this interaction, and ask for some help in getting the samples you actually wanted. They will for sure still direct the sale to numbnuts, but I would be surprised if they don't help you out with samples given the chain of events.

Sounds like you already fucked up by being dead-set on the least available item. What kind of flooring is it and why is it so special to you?

lineoleum
i just think its best suited for this specific, moderately niche, application
