should i put sunscreen after the moisturizer or before?
Current routine is
>Cerave Hydrating Wash morning
>Missha Essence Sun Milk Ex
shower in the PM
>Cerave Hydrating Wash
>Cerave PM moisturizing lotion
>Cerave retinol 3 times a week, before moisturizer
>Cerave exfoliant... whenever I remember to
This is all for face. Any suggestions on what to change if anything? I'm pretty happy with the results so far, but I'm willing to experiment.
>>18451792Sunscreen should always go last. Both products will have a harder time doing their job if applied in reverse.
>>18451792You shouldn't wear sunscreen because it causes skin cancer.
How did he do it and how do I do it too?
>>18452073botox
>>18452074that's not surprising since skincare is mostly a feminine thing
still who cares, good skin is good skin
>>18451791 (OP)does it make a big difference to change your pillowcase frequently? how often?

Is bathing in blood legit?
Finally got around to getting a tretinoin prescription instead of Differin, acne is pretty much under control, just need to get rid of the PIH (and start using sunscreen). How many months do you think it will take?
am
>la roche-posay hydrating cleanser
>azelaic acid (every three days, just started)
>la roche-posay double repair moisturizer
>boj sunscreen
pm
>la roche-posay hydrating cleanser
>tret 0.025 cream (every other day)
>la roche-posay double repair moisturizer
r8 out of 8 m8s. also give recs for hydrating serums/toner/essence or whatever plz. i think I'll be needing one
>>18452100>>18452104get 7 handkerchiefs and use them over your pillowcase
changing those every night is hassle free
>>18452701also, this is my routine for now
face wash in the morning
shower
vitamin c serum
spf15 moisturizer (i work from home, rarely go out)
-
face wash in the evening
shower
tretinoin before bed
i also want to start hydroquinone for dark spots on my body (not face)
what're some good shaving creams? just noticed mine has Blue 1 in it dafuq
Ok niggers how do I use this to pull out blackheads
>>18453647Dont use this you fucking monkey. They dont work and fuck your skin.
didnโt do my routine last night or this morning its fucking OVERRRR
>>18453647You use salicylic acid for that.
>>18451791 (OP)if i don't go out, will a simple moisturizer work? i think i have one from nivea, it doesn't offer any spf protection
got eu spf cream filters that doesn't stain white clothes? I put SPF on my neck and hands which causes stains on white clothes. Avobenzone seeps up the iron from the water and creates difficult to remove stains. Even tried soaking in oxalic acid.
>>18451791 (OP)Found that a local drug store has elf moisturizer (non-hemp) and decided to buy it today, I hope it exceeds my expectations since I ran out of cerave pm/am. Anyone have any experience with it? Also with amount should I use? I usually do pea sea when it comes to previous moisturizer is that okay?

>>18453757Every now then I lose focus of time and forget to brush my teeth and skincare. I always remember to do it in the morning, so it is not that bad.
Having trouble identifying my skin type. When I wash my face, it feels tight and I get flaky, so I was thinking I had dry skin. But when I apply moisturizer (I have tried very little and a good amount), after about 30 minutes, my face gets very oily as if I am sweating out all product I applied.
I have tried 2 different creams (Cerave Moisturising Lotion and Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream) and it's the same for both.
What can I do about this?
>>18453757my retinol ran out and my adapalene is supposed to be delivered in 3 days or so kek, i have no night routine right now
>>18452073looks fucking ghoulish
I've been using The Ordinary retinol since last August. I started on 0.2%, then moved to 0.5% and I have been on 1% for just over a month and now the skin on my face feels tight. Is this good or bad?
Skincare newfag here.
Is this a good sunscreen? It's the only one with Tinosorb I could find here that doesn't cost too much.
I assume the whole "kids version" for sunscreens is just marketing bullshit, but asking just in case it is weaker than the regular version or has stronger smell or lacks something important.
Also, is there anything in particular I should consider when choosing sunscreens for face vs body?
umm, do i apply tretinoin on my butt that has ingrown hair and post inflammation spots? should i go for spot treatment or all over the ass?
What's the safest method to remove pubic hair by the roots? I'm really, really scared of accidentally injuring myself.
>>18455997probably multiple laser sessions? ingrown hairs are a pain in the ass though
been using the weakest retinol formula from theordinary and experienced purging months ago (but haven't since then)
now I've switched to adapalene and I was expecting purging again since this was a few steps up from retinol
but I've experienced no purging at all
>>18451791 (OP)i don't go outside unless absolutely necessary, but someone suggested i add spf 15 at least to my routine
it says it's a mix of moisturizer and sunscreen
can i use this instead of separate moisturizer and sunscreen?
as someone who thrashes around a lot during sleeping, should i be worried about applying tretinoin overnight and completely wasting it by smearing it all over my pillows and blankets instead of letting it do its work?
should i keep it on longer before getting into the sheets?
>>18457032I mean give it 10 minutes I guess
>>18457188hmm, i expected it to have a longer application time
i guess i am not wasting it then
i usually wait around two hours before sleeping
>>18451791 (OP)Aftershower lotion. Should I be using it, what should I be using, where should I be using?
do foam cleansers contain soap? isn't it just foamed soap?
so you avoid the sun like the plague, do you avoid opening your windows as well?
>>18457455If you want to avoid sun exposure, it's best to keep the curtains closed. Ideally, you should also wear sunscreen every day, even when you'll be indoors all day.
>>18451791 (OP)my face looks oily/glossy when i apply vitamin c, moisturizer and sunscreen
i don't know what to do
>>18458196skip the moisturizer, get a facial sunscreen that also moisturizes
What can I do for my facial loose/flabby skin. I'm not overweight nor did I suddenly lose a ton of weight. I've always been like that. I was talking about this yesterday with someone and that person grabbed on my cheeks and was surprised at how "elastic" it was.
Is there anything you can do about it that's not a surgery. If the only way is surgery, what is it called?
>>18458261>I've always been like thatare you sure? or has it always been like that because you were out of shape?
maybe you just need to burn more fat and become lean
I started using The Ordinary retinol back in august and I started with 0.2%, then moved to 0.5% and now I am on 1%. Now I got a retinol burn on my neck and the skin near my eyes is flaking. Why is this? Nothing happened before starting 1% but I did not see any improvement in my skin either. I am 27.
i accidentally got tretinoin on my butt while i was applying it on my face (felt a slight itch there, hand went there by habit to scratch it) and now some of the skin there is reddish and kinda hurts
will it go back to normal? or will it always have a different pinkish tone now compared to the rest of my skin?
someone please answer this, it's worrying me
>>18458271Nah I've always been lean. I'm currently 182cm for 75kg. Which is normal and I never been overweight or even chubby. I always had fat cheeks though
Someone told me to replace retinol and other serums for tretinoin. Been on it for two months now or more and can barely see results. I have two questions about this.
- Is tretinoin the kind of products that takes a long time to produce results?
- You think I can get retinol and vitamin C back into my routine while also using tretinoin? I have big pores I want to treat.
>>18458261do you have hypermobile joints?
I get told I have puffy eyes how do I remedy this?
Anyone have success self-treating folliculitis on back and shoulders? I've had it for years and I only recently figured out it wasn't regular acne. I've tried:
>benzoyl peroxide 10% for 2 months
>dial gold bar antibacterial soap x1/day for 2 months
>salicylic acid
>exfoliating scrub with all the above
I have some Hibiclens which I hear works good for bacterial folliculitis, but a wide application area might "require doctor supervision." I was also on ketoconazole for a few months for a different issue, and had no change for this one. Which tells me that it's probably not fungal in nature. Are oral/topical antibiotics the only way here?
>>18458261take smaller bites. its likely you're overstuffing your face when you eat. if you take smaller bites, the muscles in your cheeks will eventually atrophy. i was in the same boat as you. you might also be holding water possibly due to a high sodium diet
>>18458403Nope
>>18458902It'll look like I'm avoiding any kind of responsibility in this but my eating habit is kind of clean. I don't eat that much, I do a lot of sports. But I don't really watch my sodium intake. But at the same time, I don't eat between meals.
> take smaller bites. its likely you're over-stuffing your face when you eatYeah I do this. I'll try to stop but again, it's not like I'm being extreme with it.
>>18458368someone help me

does exfoliating bar soap actually work?
skin is a little flaky due to tretinoin and makes applying serum and spf a pain
>>18459893i shave it after washing my face but before applying anything
>go from never washing my face apart from water passively hitting it while I take a shower to using a cleanser and moisturizer daily
>been doing that for a month and a half
>see literally no difference
Was my default no-treatment skin actually better than I thought or am I doing something wrong
>>18461035the only 2 things that actually do make a difference are retinoids and sunscreens
>>18459893I use cleanser in the shower, then shave after I get out. After shaving I use aftershave/alum block, rinse well, then moisturize. If i'm going to be spending time outside i do sunscreen about half an hour after moisturizing
>>18451792after
>>18451825good, remember to use sunscreen if you are going out
what type of exfoliant do you use? i think you should use it instead of retinol, not after
>>18452008enjoy your cancer from sun instead then
>>18452073are you sure this image is not reversed?
>>18452100if you are acne prone, probably yes but you need to try it yourself to see if it makes any difference for you
>how often?i put some old tshirt on my pillow, the next day i turn it on the other side
>>18452280it comes down to your condition. you can try vitamin c serum in the morning or something like azelaic acid or something if you want to speed it up
>>18452565extremely good routine
>>18452701its derm time for you
>>18452705>spf15 moisturizer (i work from home, rarely go out)well when you go out you better apply spf50
>i also want to start hydroquinone for dark spots on my body (not face)anything else you tried so far?
>>18453543just make sure it does not have alcohol, it stays for 5 minutes on your skin or less so it does not really matter
>>18453647you return it and start epiduo + double cleansing (possibly include salicylic acid wash)
>>18453757even a full reset from time to time might yield positive results for some people
>>18453817some people say yes, others say no. id say yes only if you dont get direct sunlight at home and/or work by the window
>>18453953if you narrowed it down to avobenzone then look for eu stuff that does not contain it. just paste inci list of what you can find into chatgpt and ask to describe filters
>>18454601apply less
>>18454718most probably something else caused it
>>18454844>Is this a good sunscreen?i think there is at least one filter that can cause eye irritation but not everyone experiences it
>kids versioni think these usually have physical filters too
>anything in particular I should consider when choosing sunscreens for face vs body?yes, make sure it is bigger bottle since you need more for your body and make it spf50
>>18454936use salicylic acid wash or lotion, azelaic acid or urea cream (30% minimum will yield best results i think) instead
>>18456612well sometimes you do, sometimes you dont
there is no universal recipe for any of this, everyones skin and conditions are different
>>18456785yes, most sunscreens are moisturizing these days, but some are drying and/or need moisturizer underneath. i need moisturizer under boj rice probiotics spf50 sunscreen or isntree hyaluronic acid watery sun gel (this one is seriously drying me)
>>18457032>>18457247it does not soak in after 15 minutes? im dry like 30 seconds after applying my tazarotene cream or epiduo
>>18457288is your skin dry? then yes. or use body wash with milder surfactants (no sls/sles)
>>18457359it comes down to presence of SLS/SLES in the products i guess
>>18458196if moisturizer is not oil free, use it in PM instead. but it can also be your sunscreen. check youtube sunscreen reviews how shiny/oily they are if you think you need a new one
>>18458261make sure it is not high cortisol level + go to derm
>>18458317this is expected at 1% retinol. at this point you can either go stronger retinoid like retinal (for anti aging not acne), adapalene or tret/taz which has less adverse effects while it is more efficient. this is because your skin has to do less work to turn it into retinoic acid
also avoid eye area
>>18458368it should go back but may take some time. you can moisturize the area in the meanwhile
>>18458398>Is tretinoin the kind of products that takes a long time to produce results?what kind of goals are you expecting? you wont get 10 years younger in 2 months if thats what you are after. retinoids are a long term thing the same way sunscreen is
>You think I can get retinol and vitamin C back into my routine while also using tretinoin? I have big pores I want to treat.use vitamin c in am routine (cant combine it in the same routine with retinoids). you can use tret one day and retinol the other if you really want. for handling pores check out pore care from tina tanaka on youtube, she has like 2 or 3 good vids
>>18458425get better sleep, sleep on your back, use cold spoon in the morning (if cold spoon works you can consider caffeine serum but not sure it will help)
>>18458440go to derm
>>18459893right after cleansing
>>18460001recently i learned that there is so much stuff to shape your eyebrows its crazy
>>18460164in most cases physical scrub/exfoliation is inferior to chemical exfoliation (like salicylic acid). i used a scrub once and it burned me instantly but thats because i use stronk retinoids
>>18460922you will get better results using body wash with salicylic acid and leaving it on you for 2 minutes i think
>>18461024>skin is a little flaky due to tretinoinisnt flaky skin usually listed as a side effect? use less or every other day and/or use heavier moisturizer after tret in your routine
>>18461035if you ever wondered why women's skin is so soft (especially when you compare hands) its due to years of moisturizing it multiple times a day and using sunscreen. if you dont need it or long term usage is an issue for you, stop skincare
>>18461189for anti aging, yes. but for skin conditions there are many more ingredients that work wonders and are clinically proven
>>18451791 (OP)thanks to op for keeping thread alive
>>18461476you are the best person on this board ty
>>18461480thanks
do i apply urea cream all over the butt?
>>18461537yes but urea cream will only address ingrown hair. it is more commonly used for rough skin around feet, knees and elbows.
salicylic or azelaic acid will address both acne and ingrown hair
>>18461486>>18458440>go to dermwell there is also this if you want to take a look
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7605388/
>>18461546which is better for dealing with pih spots and making the skin even?
>>18461546>>18461618also want to add that my folliculitis (ingrown hair) is mostly gone now thanks to about a month of washing with salicylic acid body wash
it's the pih spots and slightly darker skin i want to treat now
do I need sunscreen if I'm brown and/or don't go outside often
>>18461780>do I need sunscreen if ... outsideYes
>Start wearing good sunscreen on body
>Shower and scrub myself at night
>Still smell like sunscreen
What is an effective yet cheap way to remove sunscreen from my body?
I know that for the face you use a good cleanser + toner, but using facial products all over my body daily would be more costly that I would like. I've seen some people recommending castile soap, but I already use this one and it didn't do the trick.
think im sensitive to fatty alcohols after quiting cerave products im not getting pimples anymore
>>18454030any serum recommendations that go with cerave cleansers and neutrogena sunscreen?
i believe the neutrogena spf 50 is also a moisturizer, so there's no need to get an extra layer, and i don't really like exfoliating, makes my skin very dry
>>18461897really?
what is your skin type?
mine is combination, cheeks dry out very quickly
should i go with cerave cleanser for my skin type?
>>18462000yeah the green one is fine for most people, i think i have combo skin as well
>>18462032what do you use now? you said you stopped getting pimples after quitting cerave products
>>18462044nothing its only been a week, ive not been using anything on my skin, trying to develop a new routine with diff ingredients
>>18461488>for anti aging, yes. but for skin conditions there are many more ingredients that work wonders and are clinically provenlike what? retinoids don't just help with anti ageing shit like wrinkles, they help with acne and hyperpigmentation as well as enlarged pores
what more do you need? if you've got flaky/dry skin sure, a moisturizer might help but so would drinking more water
>>18461621well in that case get on azelaic acid. there is also benzoyl peroxide which also works but it bleaches clothes so i would not recommend using it on body. perhaps panoxyl (BP body wash) would be a little easier to use
>>18461780its about sun exposure, not necessarily being inside/outside. and you can be exposed to sun quite a lot even indoors
>>18461809in my experience soap is not removing sunscreen very well and often adds additional layer of residue on top of it. but i think any shower gel that foams can do that easily
>>18461999serums should be used to address specific skin issues. so if you have any, post them, if not, no need for serum
>>18462074so you should only use retinoids and sunscreen for all skin issues? is it really too much that some people want to use more than one ingredient to address certain problems they have?
>>18462229>serums should be used to address specific skin issuesi saw many people including vitamin c in their skincare routine in the other thread, so i thought it was something you have to use everyday with cleansers, moisturizers, sunscreens
i have some acne and pih, but it's very mild and i was told tretinoin takes care of that
so should i drop serums and just go with cleanser + moisturizer + sunscreen + tretinoin (in the night)?
>>18454030How is this real wtf
>>18462483what do you mean? the price?
how good is this cleanser?
and can i pair
>>18462493 with neutrogena sunblock?
>>18462491Yes for 1.7oz, it's crazy to me
I still get flaky dry skin on my cheeks/chin (looks yellow) from when I used minoxidil on my face 2 years ago. Is there a product that will fix it? Could it be skin barrier damage?
i've used feathers for the last 8 years, now they cause skin irritation from shaving against the grain too much
which blade do i move on to now? bic super platinums are sharp and do not cause irritation even against the grain, but at least 1 in a 5 pack is a bad razor blade
>>18462607how often do you shave?
I've been applying 2% sa to my nose for 2 months to get rid of this blackhead but nothing happened. Should I try my luck with picrel instead?
>>18462715it really is like that sometimes isn't it?
i hate when mine stay for months and i have no idea what to do despite getting recommendations on products from others
I've been using face moisturizer after showering and literally every bump on my face is gone. Are y'all actually using 5 plus products
>>18462715cerave retinol did nothing at all for me think it was too weak
I have never washed my face, I just run water over it and what ever conditioner I have in
>>18451791 (OP)Is there things I can add or should avoid in my diet for great skin. Notice I am getting a lot of blemishes on face and I am pretty sure its something diet related
>>18454030this pic's so dumb. imagine recommending a sunscreen with no mention of what skin type it works on, what shades it works on and things like if its better in summer/winter.
blind leading the blind stuff. if you have skincare questions just ask reddit this place is retarded.
>>18463020I'm going to be real with you, this place is far better than Reddit you don't have endless shilling from secret company agents advertising their shit
>>18453543theres propellants in it too, and spray can shaving cream dries your skin and don't lubricate well. get a brush and the kind that comes in a squeeze tube, soap in a bowl or cream in a bowl. soap pucks last forever, creams moisturize more, and squeeze tubes lather up instantly. for brush you can either get a cheapo synthetic one and throw it away every few years when it smells, or get a silvertip badger hair brush and it will last forever without smelling.
>>18452105there's research showing that young blood transfusions have anti aging properties and there's research showing that blood is indeed bioavilable through skin contact.
>>18463039the anon posting asian girls has good advice.
Any one have any experience with Burt's Bees skin care products. I'm looking for something more natural.
>>18463020honestly yeah, i agree
this recommendation is only from people who frequent the board, and this is mostly a dead board
obviously, it's biased on what worked for certain individuals and might not be the best options for everyone
it's even worse if you have combination skin and most products are for dry or oily skin, so you have to decide which one you should go for
>>18462483i agree. i think they're overpriced.
>>18462493>>18462494it's solid. equivalent to cerave in quality. nothing fancy, but gets the job done without issue. choice of sunscreen isn't going to matter because the soap will be washed off.
>>18462585seems odd. you should see a derm about it.
>>18462715tretinoin if you can get a prescription, but adapalene gel 0.1% if you want OTC.
>>18462728everyone's different anon, but most people aren't using 5 things.
>>18463017drink 3-4L of water a day. avoid dairy and sugar. you may have an allergy, so be on the lookout for that.
>>18463039depends on how you're looking at it imo
what do you use for lips? mine get chapped every other day
petroleum gel, aquaphor or lip balm? should i apply it overnight or throughout the day?
>>18463281I use aquaphor morning and night
>>18463282do you leave it on or wash it off after some time?
>>18463283No I leave it on otherwise my lips get chapped
>>18463284really? mine don't chap that quickly
should i use petroleum gel instead?
i assume the aquaphor must make it tedious to eat or drink
>>18463286I can't tell it's on after 10 minutes
>>18463281drinking lots of water and licking my lips throughout the day, unironically
>>18463288i drink lots of water, but never lick my lips
licking just makes them drier
i prefer something i can apply overnight and wash off in the morning
i think i will look into night masks for lips
anything for the under eyes? i just noticed my under eyes are slightly dark
i get decent sleep, sometimes i wake up midnight
>>18462403serums and toners are optional. the basics are usually a sunscreen, retinoids, moisturizer and cleanser as you listed
vitamin c serums add some additional protection against sun as they are great antioxidants, but mainly i think they are used for hyperpigmentation? some forms of vitamin c was also proven to be stimulating collagen production. personally i used 3 bottles last year and they might have evened out my skin a little, but that also could be due to retinoids. guess i will never know
>so should i drop serums and just go with cleanser + moisturizer + sunscreen + tretinoin (in the night)?if you are just starting skincare then go with these for now. give it 2-3 months, reassess your needs and go from there
>>18462483i think some anons shat on elta md in previous threads due to price/quality
>>18462493i was recommended this once from derm for my itchy undereye skin and it was okay, quite delicate, almost like micellar water but more thick
>>18462494sure
>>18462585check with derm and use sunscreen on that area just in case
>>18462715was prescribed epiduo which worked best for me, visible changes after 3 months, even better after 6-7
>>18463017avoid eating processed food, stuff with added sugar and dairy as other anon said. i think you can look up anti inflammatory or Mediterranean diets for some examples what to eat.
and apparently almonds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOhGsFVVmaQ
>>18463281i just put moisturizer as part of my routines. if they are extra dehydrated i will use something heavier (emollient based moisturizer or petroleum jelly). salt rekts my lips
>>18463293petroleum jelly prevents 99,9% trans epidermal water loss. there is nothing else like it
>anything for the under eyes? i just noticed my under eyes are slightly darkthey underlying root cause can be complicated. could be eye bags and its just light/shade that make it look darker, but also pigmentation or skin being thin to the point it unveils blood vessels and other stuff underneath so it appears dark. if you are unsure go to derm
I have weird discolourations on my belly cause of bad posture when I was a kid. How would you recommend getting rid of them? I was thinking lemon juice bleaching or maybe chemical peel with TCA

some skin barrier repairing moisturizer would be decent as well
it's hard to deal with oily skin. 1h after cleansing (i've reduced to once daily) if i press the back of my hand against the forehead i can see oil transferred to it
still searching for a way to fix it. ive tried niacinamide, vitamin c, most types of acids in serums, moisturizers etc. currently using prescription grade azelaic acid and tretinoin
>>18464822adapalene 0.1 if you want something OTC (equivalent to tret 0.025)
tretinoin if you're willing to order from overseas or ask your doctor. i personally use amazon one medical.
adapalene or tret shouldn't cost you more than like $25
i like la roche-posay's double repair moisturizer
>>18464866Adapalene was not equivalent to tretinoin in my experience, I used it for just over a year and got far better results in just 2 months of tretinoin. Considering the cost, I would consider adapalene a waste of time and money

>>18464924>i dont think its possible to "fix" oily skin type with any productyour recommendation some months ago made me go after vit c but unfortunately it didnt help. i have yet to try things like grapeseed oil, rosehip oil, silica powders and mineral sunscreen. how oily is your skin? do you use bloating paper? i think my best way to deal with it is no actives at all, no moisturizers etc (!) and just bloating paper every 3-4h since every active (even those for sebum control) makes my skin greasier and leave an almost immediate unnatural shine. niacinamide which is a staple in sebum control makes me greasier. weird how skins react uniquely
>is your hair oily by any chance?usually not but nowadays it has been if i dont wash in 24h. dry roots i'd say, curly, medium length. i had the impression shoulder length was drier, but maybe it's the skin products im currently using.
ive been looking for anedoctes and some people seem to claim tretinoin may have changed their skin type (for combo or less oily, which is my hope if it works at a gene-expression level), but at the same time it didnt change anything for others
>>18464924>>18464866adapalene is not OTC over here, practically nothing is. they're pretty wary over prescribing anything as well. if it's OTC in france, I can order it and have it shipped over though.
i like cicaplast but I feel like it never dries and that its so sticky... nothing I'd like to wear when i go out or go to sleep. I'll check out the double repair by LRP
>>18464841if you have acne just go on isotretinoin. it's the only thing that will actually reduce the amount of oil. everything else is so minor that if you have as much oil as you're saying it likely won't make much of a difference, is a lot of hassle, and could end up irritating your skin quit a bit. not sure how long you tried niacinamide, but it takes a few months of consistent use to see the results. tretinoin will take about 4 months once you get up to 5-6 times a week. my routine from before isotret.

does anyone have suggestions for bath oils?
i loathe slaking my entire body with lotion or creams and the sensation afterwards, particularly if i have to don clothes, is prolonged suffering; bath oils are a nice way to easily moisturise while also not leaving me sticky
there are some stores near me selling promising goods but they are somewhat expensive
i've been contemplating concocting my own and figured surely someone else on 4chan has done it although i'm not certain where to ask
i've used sweet almond oil before but it was horribly greasy so i was considering jojoba oil with colloidal oatmeal and then isoproyl palmitate and olivem 300 plus then whatever daily random experiments i feel like (predominantly essential oils)
>>18465514the only thing that gave me quick results the next day were retinoids

>>18464955>your recommendation some months ago made me go after vit c but unfortunately it didnt helpsorry to hear that. what product did you end up with?
overall skincare is trial and error so its good to see you are experimenting. reason i asked about hair is because my forehead tends to get oily if my hair is oily. someone said once that people focus so much on face but do nothing on their hair/scalp. apparently both need the same amount of attention. though i dont really do much for my hair (beside sls free shampoo and conditioner with a few drops of oil if i feel like adding it)

>>18460164>>18460922physical exfoliants are almost always bad. chemical exfoliant are the preferred method.
it works by breakup up the binding fats between the dead skin cells at the upper most layer of the skin, the skin barrier. some people have naturally thicker or thinner skin barriers. the more thick it becomes the more likely it will appear dull / grayish. this is where exfoliants come in.
you can over use exfoliants, wearing down the skin barrier too thin. when it's too thin bacteria can cross the skin barrier more easily and you end up with red irritated skin and/or breakouts. repairing you skin barrier once it's been damaged can take months.
conversely, people with naturally thin skin barriers want to avoid using exfoliants and instead try to build it up using heavy moisturizers, barrier creams, and such.
there's a happy medium. too much in either direction is bad, but too thin / damaged is the worse of the two.

(topical tret apparently also causes some aggressive shininess ('tret glow'), which doesnt sound appealing at all to us with oily skin, but im willing to take that trade off for a clear skin. i wouldnt mind oily skin if it was clear like that of your korean model)

Hello anons, I'm new here (m/20). I have sensitive/oily skin, and current routine is:
>Morning:
> Cold water
> Cleanse with Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser
> Moisturize with Cetaphil Oil Absorbing Moisturizer
>Evening:
> Cold water
> Cleanse aain
>Moisturize with Cetaphil Night Moisturizer
>Once a week:
> Checmically exfoliant face, focus on cheeks to reduce whiteheads.
So far its been working pretty well I think? I want everyone else's opinions though on if I should change around anything. I really want to get rid of the whiteheads on my cheeks mainly.
Also been using the rough, textured body wash by Cetaphil as well to address the keratosis pilaris on my skin, but no luck.
I'm still somewhat new to skincare stuff, so all advice is greatly appreciated.

i'd say go for isotret. it's the only thing that can permanently change it. i wish i had tried sooner even though i'm still uncertain with the final results. the past 9 months i've been on it is such a reprieve on it's own. my skin is fully clear for the first time since i was a child. my derm uses "calm" to describe it. i underestimated the amount of irritation i had. my complexion changed quite a bit and the thickness (swelling) of my skin reduced.
my experience with tret. it did reduce breakouts and i think the tret glow is from the cleared pores draining the oil faster. i had to work up to 0.1% cream to see good results and at that strength my skin was pretty sensitive, especially on my neck. I had to be real careful to not damage my skin barrier. i used a lot of moisturizer and would lock it in with lrp cicaplast balm at night. i also had to be very particular with my sunscreen during the day.
i'll probably start back up at 0.025% when i'm finished with isotret for the anti-aging benefits, unless my derm recommends a different retinoid. i'm somewhat interested in the newer gen like tazarotene and trifarotene.
>>18454030recommendations for products that don't support israel?
>>18478939I guaranteed you that is not possible, unless maybe chinese/korean skincare products, but you might end up paying more to have them ship to your house?
>>18479008i think their stronghold on the bodycare industry is related to the adrenochrome farms that they have erected under gaza. they be putting that shit your CeraVe
made an immediate difference for me
>>18478523don't know about the keratosis pilaris but, your routine doesn't look bad if your liking the cetaphil products. if the exfoliant doesn't work, you should try adapalene or tretinoin.
>>18478939Make your own products and check where the ingredients are from. Or do a background check if it's a 3rd party supplier
>>18475768never did a laser treatment but i always assumed it is not a one-time thing. i might be wrong tho
>also the derm said the pox scars are too deep and cutting the skin will improve them. should i do that instead of laser?i doubt there will be a better recommendation from a random 4chin anon that did not get to even see your scarring
>>18476418used to use effaclar duo but then discovered mupirocin and it can be used on top of retinoids i believe. azelaic acid in the morning if needed.
>>18477778>How long u been using the Boderm one?over a year now, both concentrations
>the lack of peeling or just any irritations makes me wonder just how potent it is for the anti-aging aspect.pretty sure there are soothing/moisturizing ingredients in that cream. it is a bit more than just taz + vehicle

>>18478523Op here, I redid a bunch of it and want opinions.
>Morning:> Lukewarm Water> Cetaphil Gentle Exfoliating SA Cleanser> Paula's Choice 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant> Cetaphil Gentle Clear Mattifying Acne Moisturizer> Neutrogena 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cream> No suncreen yet>Evening:> Lukewarm Water> Same Cleanser> Same Toner> Cetaphil Night Mouturizer>Once a week:> Clay mask on faceDid I do a better job considering I'm trying to get rid of acne?
>>18479883Sorry, it is trash.
If you're using a salicylic acid cleanser, skip the salicylic acid tonerโor vice versa. No need to double up on the same active. You might get even oilier if you do this since your skin will overproduce sebum to compensate. Not to mention irritation.
Salicylic acid toner twice a day: that alone might be too irritating for some people. Itโs often better to do it once a day (AM only), or even every other day if youโre new to it.
Benzoyl peroxide (BP) should be applied close to the skin, so use it before moisturizer. I wouldnโt combine it with a leave-on salicylic acid product in the same routine, as that increases the risk of irritation.
My general advice is: scrap your current routine and:
- cleanse + moisturizer + sunscreen in the morning (or skip moisturizer if sunscreen is moisturizing enough for you, maybe use SA toner after cleansing if you already have it)
- cleanse + wait 20 minutes until dry + retinol + moisturizer at night
Do it consistently for 3 months. Then reassess your needs and go from there.
Use retinol every 2-3 days if you are new to it and work it up to every day.
If you have sensitive skin, use cleanser for sensitive skin. Most SA cleansers are not recommended for sensitive skin so keep that in mind.
For oily/combination skin, moisturizers should be oil free.
>I really want to get rid of the whiteheads on my cheeksYou don't eat slop and dairy, right anon?
PS. Just realized Cetaphil Gentle Clear Mattifying Acne Moisturizer has SA too, holy shit anon
thinking about going on peptides and getting a RLT face mask
heard some decent things about this combo
>>18480272peptides degrade outside of lab conditions really quickly, no?
any recommendation for whiteheads in general?
does sitting in front of a computer screen (lights off, screen brightness all the way down) lower the efficiency of tretinoin (0.05%) cream at night?
>>18480108Thanks for the feedback desu. Glad I got some good advice before I went and dropped a bunch of money on this stuff lol.

i was thinking about getting the salicylic acid from the ordinary, i already have the peeling solution (30% aha)
do you recommend it or not?
