>>18461823I think the positive screen looks kind like a 90's calculator.
How often do you set your watch? I feel a compulsion multiple times a day to verify that it is still running 100% accurate. It defeats the purpose of having a watch. It's like I am the watch to the watch. Seriously this is concerning.
And I read about radio watches. They seem unreliable and only set once every 24 hours if lucky that it works. The rest if the 23 hours 59 minutes 59 seconds they might as well be off, so how can you have peace
If there was a watch that synced to atomic time by radio every hour I would buy it immediately
>>18461832>how often do you set your watch? I only need the rough time, so every 2 weeks or so I guess. Who the fuck needs a watch to tell the EXACT time by the second? If you want that you'd get a chronometer or some high accuracy quartz like the citizen dude is posting with +/- 5SPY.
>>18461834I am that Armani guy. I think I have mild autism or ocd to be honest. Just the right amount I keep telling myself.
It obviously doesn't matter but there is a compulsive idea that demands things must be "right" in order to have the right to exist.
When I get my money right one day I will buy the most accurate quartz in the world. For now I think I will allow myself that g shock I posted even though I have the Armani which I can manually reset every 2 days or so

>>18461848Anon, your watch is 15 seconds behind, what happened? I remember this being 0 SPY.
>>18461848I really like the date window placement. What's the movement? Is it the seiko mecha quartz?
>>18461870Nah it's 100% right, I set it this mornign Screenshot is fake
>>18461194Go to reddit chinesewatches and search pelagos, if you just like the design there are many homages in steel or titanium.
>>18461915Is this that 200-300$ brand that surpases tudor/rulox in 80% of the finishing? Such as case and markers etc?
I heard about them, shame about rhe the lack of original design.
>>18461917Sam Martin is the brand the guy did the rolex loupe video on yeah.
>shame about rhe the lack of original designI know. Movement makers in China are already making clones of 31xx and 32xx movements that get sold in $300 reps. It would be interesting too see what you'd get out of the Chinese watch industry if they got hold of some good designers and you were paying $3000 instead of $300. Sadly I don't think it'll happen because as Archie said 'watches are all about snobbery and bullshit stories'.
>>18461832Like once a week or so, when it's off for more than a minute. If i can keep the power reserve just right the watch is pretty accurate and i can go a month without setting it.
>>18461848how can you live with a watch that is not 0 SPL? (Seconds per life)
>>18461833You can sync them manually.
The only way to get the time 100% accurate twice a day is by disabling your analog watch. There is always a 0.0001second deviation in other ways
>>18461950This, I carry three watches, Citizen 0100, a radio GShock and a hand wind watch. First around the sync I verify that the 0100 is running withing spec, them I keep waiting for the time to come to check the time on the empty hand wind watch, at exactly 0,7 seconds before it hits I move my gaze from the 0100 to the manual wind watch and admire its precision at that moment. You cannot fathom my bliss.
>>18461955I personally keep time.is open at all times on my phone and check that every 15 minutes to make sure it is still working
>>18461968The advantage of this is that it also shows ISO week number
They call G shock an engineers watch but it doesn't show Iso week number. Worthless rubbish

I'm looking for a diver. Should I pull the trigger on this "Happy pride" watch? I do like it and I've tried it in person, it fits well, the dial is nice, a bit hard to read but I dig it very much. It would be my second watch. Picrel but new, 1300 European rupees.

>>18462373how hard is it to adjust a movement to be more accurate, say yuo have a rolex that runs at +3s/day. is it difficult to slow the watch down to +1s?
>>18462383i take apart the watches, check for any damage, check the clearances and adjustments of the parts like endshakes, escapement stuff, hairspring stuff etc. after that, i put the dissasembled movement in the cleaning machine, and once it comes out i replace damaged parts, reassemble, lubricate, and regulate it. i then put on the dial and hands and encase it.
customer service watchmakers like me dont make their own parts, im kinda like a mechanic for watches
i dont do the refinishing/polishing, and i dont have any training on tourbillons
>>18462389Not everyone can be a Rodรฉnt.
>>18462387adjusting the average rate is easy. the hard part is getting that rate to be consistent in different positions and keep the same rate as the watch winds down. rolexes are pretty robust but idk it depends

>>18462422putting "automatic" and some tech spec garbage like "3 days" on the dial is massive cringe
>>18462442I really wish they'd expand some of their designs a little more, because a lot of their best watches are the khakis with the 24 hour field dials and it really doesn't have to be that way.
This jazzmaster day date is basically the khaki king with a different dial and differently finished case. They took basically the same watch movement and watch concept and totally changed the vibe and feel of the watch. I really think if they did something similar with the khaki mechanical and just gave it a cleaner dial and polished the case it would be a wonderful thin affordable dress watch.
>>18462449is it really that derivative? to me it just looks like the style of divers watch seiko and citizen have both been making since the 80s
>>18462451I disagree. I think it's intentional choice for this specific design (36mm) to bring a more vintage look to a watch. This kind of stuff would make more sense in the world before quartz and internet.
>>18462471I don't think any of the classic vintage watches have specs written on the dials.
>>18462373question about fake skx case, china design
the case is a bit different than the real one
for example there is a drilled hole with a long wire under the rotating bezel to make it unidirectional
do you know if there is a gasket under the crystal or if there should be one? cos there was none at the crown, how much time would it take you to disassemble it and put a seal under the crystal if required?
>>18462338TV Big date, Multifort, Multifort Patrimony, Oceanstar, Baroncelli. If there is to say anything about Mido, is the fact that it's one of the most underrated brands.

Some say he can build a flying tourbillion with rusty scrap junkyard metal and used paper clips, in a cave.
Some say he can regulate a watch to perfection with his eyes and ears alone, no tools. He can hear if your watch beats at 36000 ticks per hour or if it's 36001.

Same thing with the Navitimer because if you haven't seen them and handled them, you just don't know how fucking SHINY they are, which can be a dealbreaker. It sure was for me.

Recommendations for first watch purchase. <$200USD budget (sorta flexible I can utilize another 100 in gift cards to make it closer to 200 but preferably would like lower). I generally like dressy style watches but love diving style and the seiko locomotive posted by OP. I was initially looking into a vintage or used credor or orient off of ebay.
>>18463271Nice watch but you need to see some proctologist soon
>>18463103yeah to be honest it is way to big. if they ever release a smaller version i might consider buying it
I was scrolling Breitling website to remind myself why i hate them when i noticed something.
Does the bracelet look right to you?

Thoughts on Timex?
I like being able to read my watches in the dark without having to stand in direct sunlight for 5 hours beforehand.

Thinking of selling my BB58 towards the Superocean Heritage II. Thoughts?
Background: BB58 used to be my daily but I've been wearing my Speedmaster more and more instead. I have 7.5"/19cm wrists
I'm about buying a Bronco Sport.
Rec me a watch pls.

>>18462869Your boyfriend's watch is nicer (the open heart one).
What's the model?
>>18464134the Tudor design is somewhat iconic (the original Rolex model is), but the Breitling is a mess.
IDK if it's the mix of points, sticks and arrows + steel/gold/white/black + mesh bracelet + like 4 different fonts (breitling, superocean, minute marks, date), it just feels wrong. I like cleaner things.

>>18463218just in terms of style I want the reverso.
the glashute is cool, also. I don't like lots of complications but the way they do it looks nice.
I think the others are kinda ugly. iunno the picture of the globe is neat in a way but I don't like the overall looks on the others. just my personal taste. they're not terrible or anything, I'm just opinionated.
>>18463312look at the Baltany offerings
>>18463775my nice (ish) watch has a medium brown band but I bought a black one in case I need formal wear or just to match a fit.
I just got the watch and the spare strap, though. I haven't actually done it yet.
my daily beater is on a silver bracelet (looks like hammy anons) and goes with my workwear and casual wear, it's a generic enough look and I don't have anything that clashes with it
>>18464114I loved my poorfag weekender and you're right, indiglo is one of the best complications ever invented. it's not really a complication I guess but it's great.
