>>18469844what anon said. the only important thing he left out was that a lot of stockists and online stores that sell these jeans offer complimentary hemming but sometimes its buried on their website or product descriptions so its good to check or email before buying, to save yourself some hassle and $. cheap hem is $10-15 usually and your local tailor can do it. vintage style union special chain stitch is usually about $25 give or take, you might live near someone with one or you can mail your jeans.

if you have to carry a few pairs in each waist size that's a couple thousand bucks of inventory. if you have to carry a few pairs of every waist size AND inseam that adds up quick. especially if you do inseams by increment of 1". the mass produced brands can afford to do it because their jeans cost nothing to make and they slop them out in industrial factories but the more handmade stuff its just not practical to do that way for anyone involved. higher unit costs, smaller businesses, smaller margins, its just not feasible.
