Took /fa/'s advice and went to a men's 'hair studio' rather than a regular barbers. /fa/ was right. 100x better. Double the price I normally pay, but honestly worth it. Wish I did this earlier.

based, also went to a hair salon that mostly cuts women's hair but accepts dudes. Didn't want fades so it makes sense to get someone who works with only scissors

pretty happy with the result, they also take their time instead of trying to cram as many dudes like the barbershops do

the person cutting my hair also looked like a functioning member of society instead of like a criminal

I pay 4 euro for my haircut, I think paying more gets you nothing more if you find someone cheap that gets your general look.

no, I go to a gender-neutral hair stylist where most of the stylists are transgender. it's like $130 and I have to listen to obnoxious theyfabs complaining about how bisexuals have been betraying the community by dating the wrong sex, and I have to make an appointment a week out, and it's like 45 minutes away, but it's worth it to not have to deal with the stress of some mouth breathing cishet giving me the USMC special that will take 6 months to grow out

I tried that at a neighborhood one-chair salon and the salon lady looked speechless when a MAN showed up and when I asked if she had other male customers she was like 'it's... not common' like I was an alien that just landed in her haircutting chair. it was a perfectly decent cut but it was also an incredibly awkward experience and there was a little bit of that "I hope this dude doesn't rape me" vibe that arises from being alone in an empty room with a strange woman

I'm in Greece, I think regular prices for modern barbers are like 12-15 to maybe 20sth if quite upscale, but the barber I go to is an almost-retiree immigrant who owns a hole in the wall tiny place that's straight from the 70s.
