>>18466968 (OP)In January 2024, I had one session of laser tattoo removal for a large tattoo across my lower back. It lasted 75 minutes.
I suffered an extensive, deep burn across my lower back. I was branded with my tattoo (thatโs how it was described to me at the hospital).
For the past 18 months, I have been receiving treatment. It began with wound healing (cleaning and dressing three times a day), treating the infection that occurred due to the depth, a staph infection, followed by more months of scar treatments, at Whiston Burns Unit.
I was referred to a clinical psychologist, at St. Helens Hospital, whom Iโve been seeing for around 12 months, to help me deal with what has happened, and to help me cope with the ongoing procedures (which, unfortunately, now include laser treatments).
I am now under the care of a Plastic Surgeon, having laser treatments on my scarring, before I will eventually have some further procedures to attempt to blend the scar with my natural skin tone, to help it look less awful (Iโm learning to use kinder words to describe it).
The entire healing process is expected to take about 2 years.
