Can I use this retinol shit to get rid of seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp? ChatGPT says it wont work and I'll lose my hair. My skin doesn't seem to be sensitive to the side effects.

Get antibiotics. Doxycycline. Takes about a week to go away. Two weeks to finish roughly ten pills.

Is it a white discharge or a yellow?

If it’s pimples like after a close haircut, use an antibacterial shampoo or soap such as a basic head and shoulders or even a harsh bar soap. If it’s yellow and you have dandruff get a coal tar shampoo. You have to dry the fuck out of your scalp.

>seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp
theres multiple things that cause it, and multiple different approaches to treating it depending on which one you have.
you need to either go to a dermatologist, trial/error, hair pull and shed test at home, etc.
what you can do in the meantime is:
- THROW AWAY YOUR SYNTHETIC PILLOWCASES THAT PROBABLY CAUSED THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE. buy 2-3 sets of natural silk or cotton pillowcases. wash them every night or two. the multiple sets is so you can rotate.
- THROW AWAY ANY SYNTHETIC BEDDING SAME DEAL.
- get a strong cleansing shampoo
- wash your hair frequently like 2x+ a day until your shits more under control. you can use coconut oil on the ends if they get dry but don't let it get on your scalp at all.
then once you find out whats causing your seborrheic dermatitis treat it as appropriate. some people have luck with the rx shit. some people don't but the natural approach cures them. if something doesn't work try something else.

probably a good idea too.
i would also do the hygenic changes in my post so it doesn't just come back.

I spent about a year using stupid DIY hacks like tret for a scalp issue, then I saw a doctor who sent me to a derm who fixed it in 5 minutes

Just see a doctor. You won't lose your hair but it's a waste of perfectly good tret

I don’t think you can literally fix that in five minutes

this, i cant believe it took this long. Nizoral shampoo once a week will clear it up in a matter of a few weeks. worked for my dandruff and it's recommended for sebderm by basically everyone
