Everyone who goes under the knife get scheduled for repeating maintenance surgery. It's like the table manager giving you a free room so you can come in and gamble again. You play until you bust out, and everyone does so eventually. The house always wins. The only winner in plastics is the surgeon.
(And yes I know about the post-WWII guys that actually needed it. They are all long gone now, and the stories of kids with deformities getting a one-off fix is rare as hell.)
