You can literally keep reshaping the hat with a steamer, there's not much else that won't hold up with a proper western hat. I don't personally know any farmers that work with them tho, it's either a trucker hat or a canvas boonie. Basically whatever hat gets give to you buy sponsors at agriculture shows each year. Hats get so fucking dirty on farms I can't see any reason to spend hundreds on one for work. Only your steel toe boots should cost that much. Any don't even get me started on cowboy boot gatekeepers pretending anyone actually uses cowboy boots outside of rodeos and fashion. Your boots get fucked real fast by oil and diesel and actual shit. And farmers aren't trudging round in heels for a living.

Same everyone that works real construction, farming or mechanical has moved to more convenient, cheaper or higher quality products that do the same work. I dump my company branded clothes and other shit off at the thrift store from time to time and since its branded with a company logo it gets a steep discount. Not more than a week later I see some farmer with his beat up truck wearing that crappy shirt or he goes out and buys some cheap ass hanes long shirts. Fuck button down its more of a liability for some of these farmers since it can catch on certain movements in labor.

Boots generally they will spend a bit more for the money to get higher quality but they might take the time to wax it before slapping it on and destroying it in 6 months. Jeans are still being worn but its being phased out for military cargo pants from flea markets or discount cargo pants from fleet farm, big R, menards, tracktor supply. They tend to burn through those in 6 months or less. I do see farmers atleast spend good money on socks due to durability complaints but mostly heat from being on your feet in the sun daily. Sun hats is were its at for actual outdoorsy shit, more neck coverage and face coverage.

In what world retard. The leather soles are for dancing. The pointed toes are for riding horses. The square toes are for the average joe who works but its often accompanied by rubber soles for people who actually work. The exotic leathers like ostrich and gator can sometimes be found for cheap but you would generally reserve that for dancing since its accompanied by soles that account for that.

The work boot variety is often cheap enough to were tons of people have them and with steel/composite toes it makes them just as compliant as regular work boots with an added benefit of some water resistance.

Tons of people wear western-style work boots though. They're just comfortable and convenient, and are better for people who have weird or fucked up feet, because the leather breaks in and conforms to your foot in a way you can only get otherwise by paying out the ass for custom shoes. I wear them myself because I have both high insteps and bony heels they're literally the only kind of footwear I've found in almost 40 years of life that don't fucking destroy my feet after a few hours of wear.

It's more west of the Mississippi River, generally, which still includes some of the Midwest, but I see your point. Even in the Southwest, baseball caps are still more popular than any sort of brimmed hat, usually. I'm not sure why so many farmers and ranchers wear them often over cowboy hats or similar hats, as they only protect the front of the face, leaving the rest exposed to the harsh sun if one is outside long enough.

Cowboy hats are a big investment and can be a bit of a hassle. I've got a few and wear them for certain stuff but they're annoying to if you're in and out of a truck all day, a pain to deal with when they're not on your head, etc. Most styles are also pretty hot compared to a trucker cap, even straw ones. (There ARE types that wear shockingly cool but they're often ugly and not very popular.)

>>18475778

Growing up in Oklahoma, my experience has generally been that "well-to-do" guys who work at the courthouse or in government or in oil/gas wear cowboy hats as a status symbol and actual ranchers/farms wear straw hats, although they usually have one nice cowboy hat for "formal ware" like for the yearly family reunion, etc.

Even that brand has much more approachable boots anyway. A set of basic ropers from them is like $650, which is still a lot but not crazy for the quality level. Sadly they'll never be an option for me, because I've tried them on and they don't fit my foot shape at all, but it's probably for the best because I always end up trashing footwear so I'd feel awful about doing it to expensive boots and I'm happy with my R. Watsons that cost half what even the cheapest Luccheses do while still being traditional handmade boots anyway.

Lmfao just get a $150 pair of synthetic skins from Cavendar's store-brand, hell get 3 (one dark, one daily, one light). If you're daily wearing boots get ropers or something with built in comfort/rubber bottoms. $300+ for boots is insane

They are more like a generic painting you'd see in a hobby lobby than any of the masterworks people admire in galleries across the world. They are a reproduction of a reproduction. Even if you could buy an original, it would still be a waste compared to any high value painting. Unless your a big Koontz fan, I don't think you'd wear the Mona Lisa on your feet.
