I plan to grow a beard like that.
>2
Having this in mind, should I stop shaving this neck stubble?
>3
When growing sideways like this, should I only hydrate and comb or trim?
>4
He does shave that part, right?

When I had a beard like 1, my barber would still shave my neck.
I have a beard like 3 now, and I have the same problem as him. When the beard gets longer, it curls in and then out. I just comb it in/fluff it up. When this happens, I take it as a sign, that I need to visit my barber. It will stop being a problem, once the beard gets long enough.
Seconding not shaving cheekline, just trim it.
In 4, there's not a lot of hair under the ear, it starts slightly lower - on/under the jaw. It is usually shaved to give the beard a better shape.

Don't save the neck, that is where the bulk comes from, if you do it looks weird from the side

Do them use a plastic comb, it rips too many hairs out because of how they stamp press them. Get a wooden one or one made from horn
