Unlined wax jackets just feel gross on the skin. And they're really cold when you first put them on.
Waxed jackets are terrible when the temperature is even remotely warm because they don't breath at all, by design. But unlined jackets aren't suitable for proper cold weather, so there's really only a very small window where the temp is perfect for them

I have an oilskin duster that was excellent when I lived in a rainy climate. Don't wear it much anymore though since it hardly rains on this side of the mountains.
