Bros, if I ever have a kid, do you think giving them a Japanese name or an Arabic name would be effay or big gay? I’m Latino American btw. I think there’s a lot of names from other cultures that are really interesting but everyone in America mostly adopts English/Euro names regardless of what race they are. Like nobody bats an eye at a black guy named Michael or a Mexican guy named Hector even though neither of them have an ancestral/cultural connection to those names, so why would naming my kid a Japanese name be any weirder right?

My actual first name is Maxim, in reality it's because I'm named after my dad's grandpa who was just "Max" and my parents thought that was too simple and didn't like "Maxwell" or "Maximillian" or anything, but I prefer to believe I'm named after the machine gun.

It really is about the phonetics of both your names combined. 2 syllables first name and one syllable last name is better than 2 - 2 or 1 - 1. 3 - 2 is also good. I think you want a longer first name than last name but also you want a shortenable first name. Then you have harder consonants which you want in both names at either the start or end of the word.
