I’m up for a new frame, but because I’m a STEM autist I have no idea what style of glasses would look good on me. Any recommendations? Or should I just bite the bullet and learn to tolerate contacts even though I hate things touching my eyes.

that's 100% how you'll look best because the lenses will make your eyes appear beady and smaller
you can minimize this with high refraction indices and smaller glasses in general but it'll be there, always

I'm more partial to round frames (either thin, titanium or thicker acetate)

You'll get used to contacts quickly, but overall I think your glasses frame your face well and look age appropriate. They highlight your eyebrows and square off your slightly oval face.

This. Glasses suck. I wear contacts daily but have a pair of rimless frames with thin lenses I wear on weekends and days I want to give my eyes a break. People will treat you differently when you wear glasses and they’re an instant hit to charisma.

Interestingly, no. The whole procedure takes about 3 minutes for each eye. There is no pain, it is just a weird pressure. Immediately after, everything looks like you're underwater, but it slowly comes back to 20/20 vision 24/7. It's kind of amazing.

Ophthalmologist here. LASIK is similar to russian roulette if it works it’s amazing, if it doesn’t you will probably kill yourself. I have seen too many complications. Just stick to contact lenses but be mindful to keep them clean - contact lenses associated infections are nasty. You will need glasses when you are 40 anyways because of presbiopia.
