It's gotta be really hot to go around with all that plastic. I mean I get the jackets but all the pants are poly-something. Asian people sweat less don't they? Would make sense that the creator isn't too bothered by that.

They really fell off in the last years imo

Where earlier you had nice articulation now all you get is wide oversized silhouettes.
This can work for some items (V1A-M) but most of the oversized jackets don't appeal to me.
With a lot items of the last 6 seasons still somewhat available, heavy sales online and acronym hitting outlet stores like tjmaxx it is clear that the target audience largely agrees.

All they had to do was try and keep prices low and subsidize the experimental stuff by re-releasing the classics in the ways that people yearn for. Go away from laminated fabrics that will inevitably destroy your 2k jacket no matter how good you care for it. Stop using E as the standard for size M, he hasn't been a medium in ages. He should really try to be more like his girl in that regard. Maybe if Kat shared some of her blow we could get back to the slim greatness that was Acronym before COVID hit.

i know its outdated, was only ever "in style" in niche internet communities for arguably two years around 2016/2017 tops, but i'm ngl, this still looks cool to me.

i know its costume tier, overpriced, loved only by balding asian manlets and nerds in IT with too much money who don't know how to dress themselves and the releases of the last six years have been horrendous. but idc, there's something about that look from 10, 15 years ago that still sticks with me. i'm glad i didn't sell everything.

i used to own the j43a but sold it. the hood isn't practical at all and never looked as good as it does styled in pictures because the second you move your head the funnel doesn't stand upright anymore and collapses on itself. but man does it look good to me when styled.

i just really wish they'd stop with the wide silhouettes, the balenciaga/rick masturbation and went back to getting inspiration from military garments and doing more r&d again.

a lot of the newer pieces look like they just randomly slapped some random zips, pockets and molle on with zero thought (like wtf are j115, j123 doing). you can say what you want about the overpriced older pieces but at least they autistically put time in developping, iterating and perfecting their retardedly named systems so they made some sense.

Some of the stuff they made was really interesting and genuinely innovative like having small magnets built in the coat collar to hold your earbuds. Something like that would have been so useful when I used to commute to work.

>other than what is practical from acronym other than the mag strips

gonna preface this with saying i know acronym might not be the first or best to do these things, but i will say that i miss shit like the phone pockets when i'm wearing kapital or ricks. i miss jacket slings on a lot of jackets (though, again, there's other brands that do them; i like the acronym version the most), i love the mezzanine pockets on the one acronym jacket that i still own and have yet to see it utilized as well on other jackets.

gravity pockets are a dumb useless gimmick, escape zip is a useless party trick at best, i have genuinely never used interops beyond trying it once (why design a method to keep your bag dry when all the bags you provide are also weather proof?).

i never used molle webbing on jackets or pants but like them on the bags. i like the quick lock, quick release gimmick and use it a lot.

but these are all essentially gimmicks. some practical, some pretentious bullshit to justify their retarded prices

Started as a hypebeast brand. Is now dying as one. Even the diehards are selling and going to better brands. Quality was meh, kind of WTAPS tier. Arc'teryx and other proper technical outdoors brands mog it. The brand will be remembered for producing some of the most cringey fits ever made though. Pic rel. is on their website, so you can imagine how bad the people who still rep this shit look lmao

God this is so accurate in my experience working in SF at tech startups.

I still like techwear tho but I keep it real subtle
