Likely gonna be roasted, but what can I do?

Been debating on how to improve my appearance/fashion sense, and could really use advice.

My hair is pretty bad, and I got no idea what to do with it. I dunno if I wanna get a new pair of glasses or switch to contacts.

I also dunno what casual wear is really worth it, I usually get Uniqlo jeans because they'll hem them(I got short legs, wear 34x29 despite being 5'10/169 pounds). Also Adidas/Under Armor for shirts/shorts.

I have skin tags under my eyes, my derma is gonna rec me an eyelid surgeon soon and getting them all removed.

I just started lifting, and am aiming to go down to 150 pounds while lifting as well because my shitty genetics cause me to lose face/neck fat last.

Any tips appreciated.

just keep lifting and do cardio
it'll be better if you have someone at the gym explain to you what routine you need to follow to get your desired body
i think you will have to do both weight training and cardio
for your hair, i think a shorter style would suit you (maybe just spiked or short messy), but i recommend going to a proper stylist (preferably after you have achieved your body goals to better match your new face)
for the thing under your eye and the part of your nose, go to a dermatologist
it looks like you can't grow a full beard, but when you get built and have a decent face, try growing some scruff instead of a full beard (keep trimming it to maintain a length)
>my shitty genetics cause me to lose face/neck fat last
i think that's how it works for everyone haha
good luck, don't give up

Short and messy might work, and yeah no full beard.

Appreciate the tips, any advice on glasses vs contacts?

I am aware, I was actually 97 pounds heavier in December.

I somehow dodged loose skin entirely via retinol, collagen peptides, and vitamin C.

I had a rough few years, my childhood best friend passed, lost a girlfriend, lost 2 cats, lost another GF, have issues with my psych meds, and more. Kinda shut down for a bit, got fat, and stopped caring.

Been trying to get back on track.

Any tips for a haircut?

keep getting in shape.
learn how to style your hair. i got the same hair type. looks like ass if you just towel/air dry it but if you throw in a prestyler (sea salt spray with a hydrator, a thickening tonic or a texture mousse depending on the look are good choices) a little clay or cream with a matte finish and get a blow dryer and learn how to use it correctly (watch tutorials for your specific hair style you want to go for online) it can look amazing. sounds like a lot but once you dial in your routine its like +15 mins on your shower.
start learning how to dress thats not it. literally no attempt was made. if you're losing weight though fair enough buying clothes is a waste until you hit your goal. i wouldn't either. you need to develop a personal style, learn to have an eye for silhouettes that emphasize your good traits and hide your flaws. as you get thinner in the midsection from working out start tucking your shirts, wear jackets that emphasize your shoulders, etc. if you're losing weight rn it won't be long. start emphasizing your waist once you get a waistline.
really though its hard to give fashion advice with what you've posted.
mind posting like, examples of a style you like and could see yourself in?
skincare routine would go a long way and you'll age better onto the future with one. figure out your baumann skin type and come up with a routine according. skincare ingredients are always very "ymmv you might need to try a few products" and sunscreen is crucial for aging btw.
finally get your test levels checked i don't give a shit if you're young. normal doctors will do the blood work but they're insanely stingy with prescribing so if you're low t go to a mens health clinic. and start identifying environmental sources of endocrine disruption in your life and eliminating them.

>97 pounds heavier in December
goddamn keep it up i lost ~140 in my 20's, totally turned my shit around high self esteem now. my face isnt soft anymore either.

> learn to have an eye for silhouettes that emphasize your good traits and hide your flaws.
emphasize your shoulders. when you start strength training get big shoulders. focus on your body's vertical ratios, don't wear stuff untucked once you lose the midsection and start building your core. and you'll look good.
your head to shoulder ratio makes you look young/childlike but your shoulders aren't narrow you just have a big noggin. get big arms/shoulders when you start strength training and wear jackets that emphasize them (vintage/repro lee rider jackets would be a great example) and you'll look great.

in the meantime this is the best advice probably kek. but yeah if you're rapidly losing weight don't buy new clothes till you're done. just be subhuman until you get through the process, in the end its cathartic.

but you see how i analyze fashion choices right? when you hit a point of somewhat equilibrium with your physique where its time to buy new clothes, take some photos of yourself front on and from the side in your underwear or some tight clothes, then take an honest look and think "what about me is/isn't ideal" and start thinking about the shape, drape, color blocking etc of your clothes and how it can interact with your body to make it look better/worse. people online are way too fucking carebear to get serious advice from these days sadly.

As for fashion advice don’t bother with casual wear. As other anons have suggested, try wearing button downs and chinos, it flatters most men. Once you have that, add leather shoes, tailored jackets, polo shirts and sweaters. Leave that hairstyle in 2005 where it belongs, go for a short back and sides and see how it looks.

Your youthful face is fine. Your skin says much older. Get some skin resurfacing cream for like 30 bucks. You will peel like crazy for the first month but that’s actually good progress.

Get sleep and lift weights. Eat more antioxidant greens and bananas with potassium. Don’t stay up late. Quit smoking if you already haven’t.

You have potential to be young again for at least another five years.

Get Retin-A (tretinoin) from a CVS or Walgreen’s. I got it for like 35 bucks. It’s prescription but you can still just walk up to the pharmacist and say you want to put in one and pay directly. No need to get a doctor to fill one for you.

Spinach is good for you. I don’t recommend canned, even the salt free one. It’s just not much when it comes to vitamins and stuff. Green tea also helps but you want to make sure the leaves are raw. Green tea and lots of water will flush bad things out your kidneys and cleanse you.

Even if you get lots of sleep, make sure you sleep at night and get up in the morning. Sleeping hours all day will make you wake up feeling like shit. Sleeping plenty and getting up early will make your face feel tighter and healthy.

I also recommend eyedrops. This will wash out any buildup behind the eye and reduce swelling.

When it comes to clothing, look for something that properly fits your body shape. Fashion comes down to proper fit and color coordination. Everything else is subjective such as subculture.

Regular eye drops like clear eyes work. The point is to basically wash out the sockets of mucus to reduce swelling. This is to prevent a tired look and eye bags.

Here’s an outfit I can recommend for you. It’s like a really neutral default. Casual and comfortable that fits like pajamas. It’s not exactly the most stylish, but it’s a good starting point to understand fit and color coordination.

Fitted cargo jogger pants. They’re like sweatpants only more modern and have more of a taper at the ankles and calves. Kinda like ninja pants. I recommend grey, black, or taupe. I recommend a brand called INC or International Concepts.

Get a fitted tee in a solid color. No pockets, no V-neck, no patterns. Just a regular cotton tee. Kohls has good regular fitted tees called Apt. 9. Get a grey tee and a blue tee. Make sure to buy your correct size where the shoulder seams sit exactly at your shoulders.

To start out with shoes, get solid white sneakers. No meme shoes yet. You’re just a beginner. Make sure they’re as minimalist in design with little to no logos.

The outfit suggestion isn’t flamboyant or expensive, but consider it training wheels to understand proper fit and color. You gotta start somewhere, right? The plus is that the outfit would fit properly and still feel comfortable, even if it seems like gym attire. The objective is to look clean and presentable.

In regards to your hair, you at least aren’t balding. You just need something that frames your face. Get something with tapered and close sides. Doesn’t matter how long the bangs are. The idea is to properly shape your face and not make it look round. Ask a barber, not a hairstylist, to give you a number one on the sides and to keep bangs. You will have to learn to part it yourself.

I agree with the other anon that besides physique, your main problem areas are skin texture and under eye darkness. Get a real skin care routine ASAP. Cleanser + SPF in the morning, Cleanser + Moisturizer + Retinoid/Vitamin C in the evening.

Start supplementing Vitamin D, Magnesium Glycinate. Maybe get your bloodwork done so you can target your deficiencies but eating spinach is a good place to start because you look iron deficient.

I would style your hair back more. The bangs look too adolescent. The style does not match your skin’s age. Also it is not a bad thing that your face loses fat last. You have some upper eyelid exposure at this bodyweight already and losing fat there will significantly age you.

For style, I agree that you should aim to dress like a white man. Vintage brooks brothers, j crew, and Ralph Lauren. Not sure why the other guy described it as gorp. Im talking mostly just generic white guy: OCBDs, chinos, loafers, even boat shoes. But don’t buy cheap synthetic golf stuff like vineyard vines or start wearing Columbia vests. And don’t go full trad ivy prep either. We just want clean and normal, non-incel attire.

Your glasses might be a bit too large for your face. I would try contacts once you get your under eye sorted out and a bit leaner in the face.

Also uniqlo is walmart tier now. All synthetics. Ditch the graphic tees until you have a respectable wardrobe of adult basics and a confident physique.

You have the potential to look good. You are not ugly. Right now you just look like a guy who hasn’t taken care of himself.

>and some of the "healthier" low cal TV dinners.
Avoid anything with PUFAs, polyunsaturated fatty acids. Don't eat anything with vegetable oils basically. basedbean oil, canola, rapeseed, etc.
It does bad stuff to the fat in the body and especially your skin.
>still trying to lose weight
Fast 3-4 days every couple of weeks. Good for the immune system and obviously does the weight loss.
Everything else I would say is already said in the thread. Except for this:
You will age and look worse and some people won't like you no matter what you do, or think you're attractive no matter what.
Winning approval and staying young is fine for a while but it's an unwinnable battle. Accept that in the end both favor and youth and looks and eventually your life will all leave you, and don't worry too much about any of it.

I was explained that the dark circles are busted blood vessels from when I had an eating disorder as a child.

I was on ADHD meds and I developed severe paranoia on them, I choked once and became afraid of eating and got dangerously thin. Took months of the drugs being out of my system for the paranoia to go away.

I think a doctor said they can be removed with a laser.

All in all a ton of helpful advice which I am grateful for, this has been a helpful thread for me and I appreciate the advice.

I do 8:16 fasting rn, eat 1500 cals, and get 25k+ steps alongside lifting.

Might raise my calories for more gains, kinda wanna wait til I'm below 160 before lowering it.

With the proper outfit and style, you could look like someone honorable, like a doctor, an university teacher or something.

why on earth do you want to get rid of the little brown/dark spots under your eye???? they actually look awesome and add to your unique look. its like the male equivalent of when women have a beauty mark that adds to their appearance.

Your hair is good but mixing it up a little/getting it cut by a stylist to have a more natural and textured "messy" look would do wonders.

I'm going to give some advice that sounds really gay and will get me bullied but its better than the DOGSHIT in this thread telling you to wear generic button ups and chino's? You will look disgusting and awkward. The real advice is if you want to look well put together for your age and fashionable, copy what Rhett and Link from Good Mythical Morning wear. Buy like 3 pairs of pants/jeans that are straight/relaxed fit in basic colours. Then other than that, mix in a couple of graphic tees, plain tees, shirts and outerwear. Don't be afraid to go for a shirt tuck once you lose weight but it really depends on your build.

Oh, okay! Then don't mind my comment. A (polo) shirt would look nice on you! (I mean, you can't really go wrong with that.) Don't bother with chinos if you don't feel comfortable in them, I'm more a fan of denim, but to each their own.
>I'm a fairly social competent guy
I mean, you don't really need much more than that (besides looking fairly decent). I'd say being confident in yourself is even more important than having some fancy clothes.
>I have skin tags under my eyes, my derma is gonna rec me an eyelid surgeon soon and getting them all removed.
You mentioned getting surgery to get those skin tags removed in the OP, is this something you really want to get removed or something you're dermatologist proposed to you? I don't think you should remove those, like >>18482527 said they make you stand out/look more unique!

You’re actually not ugly. You just desperately need a good haircut and a better fashion sense. You’re probably going to also want to try contacts and I would highly recommend you do a strength program like Greyskull for half a year to year to permanently escape skinny fat forever. Autophagy starts at like 24 hours in, and neurogenesis starts at roughly 48 hours in and peaks at 72 hours in. The intermittent fasting is fine for daily life but you don't get the benefits I'm talking about until you do a proper extended fast. You don't need to worry about salts until past day 4, so I usually just do 4 days myself.

Also your facial hair shadow is more offputting right now given your appearance so either let it grow out or stay more on top of it.

Also also, after reading some more posts in the thread telling you not to do X because it makes you "unique", you don't want to be unique.

so besides the outfit needing an obvious upgrade, you have a very 'adult' looking face (5 o'clock shadow, wrinkles/bags under your eyes, etc.) and a little boys haircut

Cut your hair shorter and wear straight fitting jeans (avoid really skinny/baggy), a slightly shorter t-shirt without (cheap) branding on it

Shoes are fine but you could go for something leather or generally 'cleaner\ looking

I would also switch the glasses to something with a more 'premium' look, just go to an optician and have a look at designer brands, it's worth investing in since you probably wear them everyday, especially with a shorter haircut it'll be more important to wear a good pair of glasses

and you need to do more cardio, you'll get slimmer and your face will be less puffy too

you're welcome

Sorry, I didn't check the whole thread, just replied to your post. Good job on recovering after all the shit you went through!! You also don't look bad at all, you just need a few minor improvements : )

As for glasses, I'd say the Simon or Wilford fit your face best, but shorter hair usually looks better with thicker/darker frames imo

Stan Smiths are good : ) and there's no need for a total clean shave, a bit of facial hair might actually look really good.

OP all this advice is shit. Listen to me. Your hair is fine, skin is fine, your facial structure is good. The fit you posted has really bad proportions that make you look short. Find a boxier thick white tshirt, vintage blue levis, a thick belt, some boots you like. Make it look good. Try to even out your leg to torso ratio. Once you figure that out everything will start to make sense. And remember that fashion is mental, insecurity ruins your appearance.

Just trust me bro. There’s a world of difference between a fat neck and muscular, vascular neck. 6-12 months won’t make your neck huge and if after that, you think it’s too big or you’re getting sleep apnea or whatever you just stop training it.

The neck training is to take skinnyfat never-athletes and give them the neck of a lifelong athlete or farm boy. You don’t want a fat neck but you don’t want a skinny neck either.

if you want a person to emulate i would say James Murphy from LCD Soundsystem but you get a neater haircut and better glasses and tuck your shirt in to look less like a slob. even if you get contacts you still need glasses so you should get a good looking pair of glasses and contacts. i'd suggest going to a shop where they sell glasses and asking for help choosing a frame which suits you. the people in the shop generally know what they are doing.

you need to start taking a multivitamin that isn't garbage. You look sick, probably due to a poor diet. Your skin looks rough.
Drink more water, magnesium (use google, this will also get rid of those bags under your eyes), wash and moisturize your face, get a good sunblock for your face because you have moles and those get worse with sun exposure and age.
Stop wearing those pants anywhere but around the house. Wash your shoes to make them look more new if you don't have another pair. (spot clean if you can't wash them in the washer, if they are leather)
Go to any optometrist or any glasses store and get your glasses straightened out. The crooked glasses make it look like you don't care. They will adjust them for free at 95% of places, like Walmart.

I should, I also been doing 30k steps a day on 1500 calories so big deficit made me lose a lot of muscle too.

Bags under my eyes were explained earlier, they gotta be removed via laser otherwise theyre permanent. (Tldr childhood adhd meds drove me crazy, became afraid to swallow, almost starved to death, this caused them)

I am seeing a derma and working on my skin now, those are shorts I use for my cardio. The shoes are Brooks Ghost 16s for jogging, I should wipe em down though. They got 300-400 miles on em so need a new pair soon.

I have an eye exam today will be getting new frames.

alright I am serious: if you haven't tried magnesium for the bags under your eyes you should. Magnesium supplements and spray, under the eyes, 3 months. Potentially might save you surgery. Don't just believe any doctor. They want chop chop fees.

Well it sounds like you are motivated. Don't burn yourself out though. Some of this stuff is a $5 fix, its just a change in daily routine, and I believe your skin falls under that. You don't have extreme acne.

Do some research on Mg, most people are deficient in it because its used up by the liver to process caffine. If you drink coffee or soda, you probably need to supplement it. Most people do best with glycinate but again, spend some time on google. Do that first for several months before even considering surgery or something invasive. Docs will do whatever you want, because it makes them the big bucks.

Your skin I hate to say it but the threads about skincare here and on a certain forum site which is r/skincare I believe gives some very good advice. You can request brands. Just a cleanser, moisturizer and sunblock and you will see huge improvements. If you are conscious about scarring look into microneedling. There are good videos on youtube about how to do this yourself. Save the $ bro.

Also, I wear glasses and I am also saying no on the black rims, if that was you. I am of the opinion that styles like "wilford" the acetate glasses look bad on most people and are a fad

Contacts are easy to use and you get used to touching your eyes. I used them from about 16-23. As soon as my prescription stabilized I got laser eye surgery at about 24. It's not as expensive if you get it young, better than buying glasses every year or so.

A number one is a type of razor setting at a barber. It means it’s really close. Essentially I’m suggesting a fade of sorts or an undercut. You can keep the bangs. Meaning you can wear them down or have something to comb.

Just google undercut images. Look at the ones with straight hair. By happy you even have bangs because half this board is balding. With this haircut you can comb it back for work and proper events. On the weekends you can wear it loose and it turns into a punky bowl cut or a K-pop haircut.

Let me tell you a funny story.
>Go to barber
>get an undercut with a parting (one side is shorter. Both sides have a close fade)
>Looks good. Appropriate for work.
>Sides start to grow back a couple weeks later.
>No time for a haircut at 7pm before an event
>Surround myself with mirrors and do it myself with sideburn trimmers
>Cut way too close. Basically shaved off the underside.
>Oh shit! I look like Hitler! Day ruined!
>Get upset and just make my hair messy with my hands
>Suddenly it looks like a cool punky haircut resembling Cole Mohr’s undercut.
>Get compliments.

It’s a hairstyle you can wear two ways.

I don't know that you need contacts, but your glasses are too big for your face. If you were a lot heavier a few years ago, you probably picked frames for your face at that size.

The big glasses/long shorts/long shirt in the pic is making you look WAY smaller than you really are. In general you may still be in the fat person mindset that bigger and baggier clothes will be more flattering. If you're 5'10" and 169 pounds a 34 waist seems big to me, but I could be wrong.

the general advice is to try to dress a little older. You're dressing really young right now, which is clashing with how old you actually are.

100 pounds heavier, yes.

This is my cardio fit, I'm still losing weight, another 17 pounds til my goal of 150 pounds.

34 is getting a little loose, I might be a 32 next month and I imagine that'll be my final waist size.

you literally put absolutely zero effort into your appearance. and everyone knows it
do anything with your hair. slick it back, up, to the side, anything. just style it at all
those glasses looks awful, they're too big for your face and the shape doesn't flatter you. get contact lenses preferably
you gotta get some nicer clothes. why are you wearing fucking basketball shorts with those socks and shoes? those socks look ridiculous. wear black crew socks, they go with anything. get some actual shoes, not whatever those things are. and don't wear those fucking shorts outside your home ever again. wear some nice jeans

Yeah, I'm taking all advice here very seriously.

If anyone wants to recommend haircuts or things to add to wardrobe please know your advice will not fall on deaf ears.

The consensus seems to be messy undercut with bangs or just "no bangs" with no other details.

I think if I want no bangs I probably want medium/long hair, although I still have fat to lose in my face so what haircuts suit me are gonna change in time.

New glasses later, will post pics.

Cut your hair short, but keep the front/top long enough to comb up and to the side. Replace your homeschooler-ass shoes with literally anything else and you'll be on the right track as long as you keep the lifts up.

See a local hairstylist and get a consult. Decide ahead of time if you want short or long, high or low maintenance, product or no product. They'll give you some ideas.
As for clothing, I think it's clear you don't really know what you're doing. I'd start browsing here and just collecting pictures that you like, and develop your own sense of fashion. That way, when you buy new clothes, you can compare them to some kind of ideal and judge them.

good choice on the glasses, maybe fit the nose piece to sit a little lower if possible. for the hair keep a little length on top but bring it above your eyebrows, get the rest brought in close but not skin fade. sharp soccer hair isn't for everyone. also while you're getting fit work on posture, coming from fat slob to fit usually means you have to fix that too. good luck bro

Any example pics?

The shoes are function over form, theyre running shoes for cardio. Brooks Ghost 16s and unfortunately are probably thr least obnoxious looking running shoes I've found that are comfy.

I definitely plan to keep lifting, thanks.

Thanks, I'm around 24%bf right now. Looking to go below 20% within a month.

Should I look for a fancy place or something? I'm in the DMV area if anyone has recs? Hair is definitely my biggest challenge right now.

Right now I'm just grabbing some polos, Chinos, and button ups. I got a nice flannel too. But yeah, wanna expand past that too.

Use this board more frequently.

Thanks for the tips.

Like others have said, start wearing more appropriate clothes for your age. An easy start is to not wear graphic tees except for lounging at home. Buy button up shirts (can be long sleeve or short sleeve; I'd recommend rolling your sleeves if you get long sleeves) and actual pants/trousers instead of shorts.
Keep the colors of your outfits generally in the earth tones or neutral tones and you should be ok for a fashion start.

>>18487062
I think any of these honestly would work. You have a good hairline. Just keep in mind that to do these hairstyles you're gonna need to start using hair product. It won't just look like that by brushing it back.

>>18484652
These look decent, but the roundedness isn't complimenting your face. I would suggest something more square; a more square frame will compliment your roundish features. Stay on that thin frame look though.

Unironically shave head, go to gym for 2 years, drop a couple thousand on tattoos and drop a few more thousand on Rick and Balenci pants/boots/tops.

You’re not conventionally attractive, and that’s okay. Your current “style” reeks on insecurity because it’s you trying to cover your flaws. Embrace them. Show your unique features, letting people know you don’t give a fuck with a look is 85% of being fashionable.

Also start doing psychedelics, reading books and going to concerts on a regular basis. It will just make you a more interesting person in general.

Go with Murrow bro. I suggest wearing nothing with a branding on it shirt wise, like go to Uniqlo at least and wear a shirt from there (that isnt autistic anime stuff), also wear some light blue jeans or jeans, not shorts. Your hair is good in these pics too. Stuble works for you, if you can grow a mustache.

Sorry to hear about your unfortunate past, you couldve let all these terrible things destroy you but instead you have decided to better yourself, congrats anon!

Okay so first of all, go to the gym 3days a week and focus on weight lifting. Lift Heavy, Lift to Failure. Take a day rest between working out so you can really recover, even just a Push Pull Legs will be okay (although not optimal) to start with. Monday, Rest, Wednesday, Rest, Friday, Rest, Rest. Make sure you are coming close to failing on the last rep of your last set. That made all the difference to me, use the pain you have.
Low reps heavy weight on your compound movements such as your Deadlifts, Bench Press, Overhead Press and Dips. Then round out your smaller muscles with Isolation, women LOVE big arms. Be sure to do pullups too, just go watch as much Jeff Nippard videos as you can. He has a great 3x a week Full Body Routine you can find for free by searching google docs.

Youtube a good skincare routine, I tried for the past 30mins to find the right video but I couldnt, sorry.

Find a good barber around you and see what they can do for you, do your research and see who is good, has some decent numbers of followers on instagram etc. Talk to him.

Layer Basics from uniqlo. Try their smart ankle pants or whatever theyre called are OP. Use simple colour pallets like Blacks, Beige, Greys, Navy and Browns. Wear linen in Summer. Maybe watch some Brandon Balfour and see what he does.

As soon as i changed my glasses to those circle style ones, Holy Shit women just started talking to ME first.

Also go buy some good colonge, for winter and date night start with Armani Stronger With You Intensley and for summer just buy a cheap freshie, youtube that too. Use Roll On Deoderants btw.

What youre poor? Go work, yes I know youre sad, you need to go see a therapist too (Seriously) and I know theyre expensive. So go work, For real im not joking this all helps.

Goodluck mate, honestly wishing you the best.

Yeah, I got a lot of Uniqlo stuff for that reason.

Chinos, a polo, t shirts, jeans, a flannel.

Gonna get more soon, might hike out to the retail location in my state. Its a bit far but doable.

>>18491270
Yeah, I've been dealt a hand and I am just wanting to make the best of my life now that I am a functional person again.

Am lifting now, cutting but gonna recomp when I am below 20%bf next month

I cannot do a pull up yet, but thats a major goal for me. I lost so much weight so fast I lost a lot of muscle. It's a miracle I don't have loose skin.

Gonna try the skincare reddit like another anon said. I love Uniqlo shit so thanks for adding to my shopping list for next month.

And can do on the cologne. I'm probably gonna go back for an associates to be aj x ray tech I think.

Appreciate the help.

The hair's ok, it just needs styling. Use sea salt spray to give it texture to make it less straight. You have very straight hair like I do and that works well for me.

I think you should do stuff to boost your test levels too, like get more direct sunlight and increase muscle mass, avoid plastics (kitchenware, clothing, shopping receipts are the main ones people aren't aware of) etc

Learn to smile with your eyes for photos. That makes a big difference and looks better than smiling with a wide-open mouth
