Shampoo, hair mask, condition.
Squeeze out the water with your hands, no towel (hair dryer on low heat just to dry out a bit of water is ok), use your hands to "fluff" up your hair (think of it kinda like using a fork to fluff up cooked rice), and let your hair air dry.
Don't use a comb, if you're gonna use anything then go with a soft bristle brush.
For styling you could use a bit of mousse, and/or sea salt spray (don't buy that shit at the store, it's like a 300% price markup, just get an empty spray bottle and make your own)

Towels are abrasive and fuck up your hair, also, styling begins with wet hair, you want to roughly style it the way you want it dry, while it's wet.
If you start out the hair styling with dry, messy hair, you're gonna have to do a lot more work to get it how you want it.

Also, since you don't want your hair to be super dry, i'd strongly recommend getting some hair oil.
This is more important if you have curly or frizzy hair, but it can be good even if you have straight hair.

Find out what your hair porosity, density, and thickness is. Then come back for advice.

stop using so much shampoo/conditioner, and use brands that don't fuck your hair up when using them

this is such nonsense you just have to texture it, stop posting this categorically false jeet propaganda
leave in conditioner in almost dry hair to fluff it up a bit, then sea salt spray to add some weight, then a small fingertips worth of e.g. hairwax to style/texture
this is just one way to do it of course and all to preference
>a1 hair will always look bad because i don’t know literally anything about how to style hair

literally do basically what i said here:
>>18484257
wash hair, squeeze out water, use conditioner, dry (pref not with towel), apply leave-in conditioner and shape it a bit with your hands, this should already stop it from being very light and flat
then use sea salt spray, not directly into hair but mist it
then apply clay/wax/whatever you want to style it

>do you need to wash it out daily?
no, wash your hair as needed, typically once or twice a week depending on how oily your scalp is
you apply shampoo to your scalp and the hair closest, not further out. after rinsing the shampoo out you squeeze out as much water as possible, apply conditioner to your hair but NOT scalp/roots as this is where your hair gets oily, it gets drier further out so be more generous as with and near the tips to prevent the ‘dead hair’ look

>why did you put use conditioner before drying and then say apply leave in conditioner after that?
regular conditioner in shower, leave in conditioner after with hair near-dry
can also be applied dry not after shower if needed, makes your hair appear healthier and makes it more malleable
i use picrel, there’s many different types and they can vary quite drastically in what they do, would recommend this one
i have long hair though so it’s pretty much a must for me unless i want my hair to look fully dead, if you have shorter hair it might not be necessary, regular shampoo/conditioner routine + styling hair when damp (e.g. what i mentioned earlier sea salt spray + clay but this is all preference) might be plenty
i would still recommend you try it though especially if you don’t wanna be fucking around with styling your hair every day and don’t mind a natural/unstyled look

last thing i forgot to mention, you can rinse your hair with water when you shower whenever, then just re-apply leave in conditioner afterwards
the no washing every day thing was more so about shampoo/regular conditioner, keep that 1-2 times a week

To add >>18482775 everybody's hair differs, even in twins, so it could be you're using products with or without salt and it can affect it.
For me, salt makes my hair super dry, frizzy and flat, so my shampoo/cond have no salt in them. The switch can take around a week and your hair might get frizzy during it.
Wash your hair like the salons where you really massage it thoroughly.
I shampoo once a week, but wash with water 2 times a week too, after working out. Some need to shampoo more often.
