very few lifestyles allow you to put that shit on into old age.
Either you can't afford the clothes because you are paid shit or your peers have shit taste and will clown you for actually trying to look good. Musicians can get away with it because their jobs actively encourage them to stand out and dress in unconventional ways. I don't think I'm saying anything you haven't thought of yet so... there's that.
