They can be pretty breathable as long as they're made of a thin fabric. I've worn thin polyester joggers in hot humid climates and they were better at keeping me cool than my cotton t-shirts.

I bought Uniqlo AIRism underwear a week ago and it still feels fresh.
Now I also love plastic. I let it enter my heart, I will let it blend with my skin.
